I was playing single hand DDB .25 denom. Dealt a straight flush King high. Would you keep it or go for the royal?

Good question. If I was down to my last few credits and having little to no luck, I'd take the money and run. If I was hitting with some luck, had a good feeling about it and had enough credits, I'd go for it in a heartbeat.
Edited to add: What did you do?

I would keep it. In the long run, you will only hit the Royal once in 47 tries. Getting 47 straight flushes will pay you 11,750. The single Royal only 4,000. You would no doubt draw other good hands, but not enough to make up the difference in the long run. If I was way way way ahead for the session, I might try it, but I never have.

It's a no brainer, you KEEP IT, from a pure math/optimum play standpoint.......NOW, IF....IF you happen to be playing a PROGRESSIVE and the jackpot somehow has skyrocketed into uncharted regions and is HUGE x 10, then perhaps it might be worth it to take a shot, but even then I doubt many of us would throw a way the exceptional win.

Thank you for the feedback. I went for the royal, ended up with a pair for even money.

For 25 c I would go for the royal...$62.50 for the straight flush isn't that much...now if the game was triple bonus where the straight flush pays 400 or 500 credits I might think about it for a few minutes.

If you are playing deuces wild then go for the royal, otherwise it is a long term loser.

You are betting that you will turn that $62.50 into $1000 - a 1 in 47 likelihood. But, the payoff is only 16 to 1. That's not a very good wager.

Dealt a straight flush King high.I was dealt a straight flush ten high yesterday and looked up occurrence odds. 1 in 72,200. Why throw away that memory and lose $61.25 to boot? You'll likely just get your $1.25 back, which is indeed what happened. It's great that you went for the gusto. But that was a major hit to take.
