In order to add some clarity here, the murder occurred in October, 1990. The person who was murdered was set to testify against the owners of American Coin and they surrendered their gaming licenses and paid a 1 million dollar fine, quite a large sum of money back in 1990. My point here is that this event took place over 30 years ago and should not be used to judge today's gaming.

I've had two interactions with the NCC, both decided in my favor. Neither involved video poker, though
Imgary doesn't specify if the interactions with the NGC were video poker related either.

Bumping this older thread as over the years I’ve experienced a huge difference between playing older machines and the newer ones.

At NYNY all of their VP is dated. I’ve gotten numerous 4 Aces with a kicker even though their machines have terrible 7/5 paytables. At other casinos with the newer machines I win nothing. These machines mind you have paytables going up to 10/6 for DDB.

The simple answer to this which has already been given is because of server based gaming. The randomness is being handled via a server and not the EPROM chip.

A few other notes:

Anyone who thinks the Nevada Gaming commission is going in and inspecting VP is clueless. I’ve had several interactions with them and they ALWAYS side with the casino.

Why is it that every older machine I play with lousy paytables I get substantial play through? Am I just lucky on older machines?

VP has been rigged in the past. A company called American Coin had a programmer who rigged the EPROM to allow for less Royal Flushes on video poker machines. He was going to testify and was murdered. https://news3lv.com/features/video-vaul ... es-part-ii

Let’s face it no one wants to think the games they are playing are rigged. I surely don’t. However sometimes one must face reality.
Would like to see some comments on this post.
My feeling has always been that Nev.was tightly regulated (note the key word "feeling").
I have been searching for info. on checks of Indian casinos in the State of MI. for two years or more with no luck. Only result being called a conspiracy theorist on this site for asking a simple question. Who verifies the randomness of the machines i play?

Here we go again with this kind of superstitious nonsense about the old and new PRNGs...

Steve, where are you hiding? Come over.

I am not so sure it is all nonsense. This is what I have seen for the last several years. The newer machines, at least in my play have longer cold streaks, but stronger compressed win cycles. Assuming in the end, the percentages average out equal as they should in randomness, I guess it is ok. However, you have to be in the right place at the right time IMO and play much longer to catch a hot cycle on the newer machines. I do play the newer machines sometimes, but probably only 20 percent of my play. I don’t ever recall hitting a jackpot on them, but have been busted several times. All of the nice hits I recently posted were on the older machines.

I've never seen any difference between newer or older machines.

Here we go again, totally missing the point.
In the real world,a question about who verifies the integrity of the machines we play is not superstitious nonsense. I understand that the logic of this escapes you and i accept that.

You asked for comments on the post. You got comments. If you only want comments that agree with you, say so.

You call what you posted a "comment"? You simply do what you do and i accept that.
I did not ask anyone to agree with me!

tech, welcome to the world of billryan.

before he disappeared (no one asked/cared where he went), i asked him how such a kind/caring soul could label his nyc bar employees as 'independent contractors' so he could avoid paying social security taxes on their behalf.

he also tried to argue how when he first moved to vegas area, when real estate prices were low, how smart he was to rent, instead of buy.
