I'd have hoped the old dog might have learned a new trick but just more of the same nonsense. This is the poker side. Kindly keep your garbage in the angry white man portion of the forum.

Remind us again, Notes- how many jobs have you created in the last few years, or even in your lifetime?

Or how many degrees in taxes have you earned? My guy has an MBA, is a certified tax planned and has a fiduciary responsibility to me. You have what again? Worked for an insurance company or something similar?
With the 2017 tax laws, the advantages of being a 1099 worker have gotten even better. An employee earning $100,000 will pay about 10% more in taxes and fica, just on the federal level.
It's not as strong on low income workers, but they pay at lower rates anyway.

In order to add some clarity here, the murder occurred in October, 1990. The person who was murdered was set to testify against the owners of American Coin and they surrendered their gaming licenses and paid a 1 million dollar fine, quite a large sum of money back in 1990. My point here is that this event took place over 30 years ago and should not be used to judge today's gaming.
You missed the point. Just because something happened 30 years ago doesn’t make the event any less significant. The point is that we know video poker was rigged back when technology was far less sophisticated. If it was rigged then it can be rigged now. A million dollar fine sounds significant until you realize that company made several times that by rigging the machines. Think of the people who play $5 Denom.

Something else I noticed about the newer machines. Say I’m down big for the session. I’ll get dealt a four of a kind or get dealt multiple full houses. It’s strange. It’s almost like the server is trying to even out the payout percentage.

I didn't miss the point at all but nor did you mention advances in technologies to detect cheating. Nor do you mention that the owners of American Coin could not ever hold gaming positions again and they also had criminal convictions on their records that stay on their record forever and this makes it tough to even find a job outside of the gaming industry. Nor do you mention publicly owned companies who own casinos and the ramifications of getting caught cheating.

Did I miss anything here?

Edited to add: Let's go back to the title of this thread and I ask: If you think AT ALL that it's rigged, why play at all? This includes talk of server based machines being askew.

. . . The newer machines, at least in my play have longer cold streaks, but stronger compressed win cycles. Assuming in the end, the percentages average out equal as they should in randomness, I guess it is ok. However, you have to be in the right place at the right time IMO and play much longer to catch a hot cycle on the newer machines. . . .
THIS.

Programming has come a long way since the "old" machines. Anyone who thinks that the server-based machines (the "new" machines) are not manipulated can continue to believe this, I could care less.
Just because someone doesn't understand programming strings or can't accept that it's not "random" (yet, not in violation of gaming regulations) is unfortunate. My advice: Have at it.
I appreciate that others, like olds, have conveyed their factual perspectives.

Thanks, I needed a good laugh. Same old nonsense from the renter.

Heh, heh, similar homes in my Vegas neighborhood selling for 40% more than I paid three years ago. That's selling price, not asking price. :D ;)

DougJ, I have made several posts over the years about players who may think that something is wrong when they are losing but are these same people thinking that there is something wrong when they are winning? This goes along with what olds wrote regarding longer cold streaks and stronger compressed win cycles.

You guys are too much fun. The money I invested bought me my commercial building, my RV and three income producing properties here. But carry on. Stopped clocks are right twice a day, so odds are you will eventually get something right.
