Do casino's love or hate VP players?

If you are losing 50K a year playing VP and 1) you can't afford it and 2) you aren't getting value out of it
then you should quit.
I don't believe anyone here is losing $50,000 a year they can't afford but if they are, shame on them.
If someone is losing 50K a year, can deal with it and enjoys it, I say go for it.
Many people here can drop 50K without a second thought or tightening their belts.
For a successful business owner, 50K should be a rounding error.

Being financially successful does not excuse you from making bad decisions. I have made a few poor financial decisions over the years. I learned from my mistakes.

I know quite a few millionaires and one billionaire personally. None of them would think losing $50K in a rounding error was trivial.

I would like to apologize to all forum members who don't want me to say these things.
So, this was an apology? Noted.

What this post was about is if casinos love or hate video poker players. I don't think it's either one. They don't love or hate their customers. If a game doesn't make money, they change it. If a player consistently costs them money, they ask them to play somewhere else. Sooner or later you run out of opportunities.

I'm pretty sure everyone here knows exactly where this is going.

What good are all those strategy books when all VP games are negative? That's the world most of us play VP in today. We can pretend VP is profitable or address reality. How many stories of reduced odds and comps do we need on this forum to prove it?

The more you bet or the longer you play, the more it costs you.

You stay, you pay. Kernel maxim I coined some time ago. Ask me how I know. Don't apologize. Can't be stated often or clearly enough. I don't want to slam Olds. His TRs are immensely entertaining and vicarious gambling for those sans his pockets or perseverance. But this is real. I beat the rap Sunday with a surprise late straight flush sending me home a big winner. But even this only offset a recent Stay and Pay bad trip. Both trips combined produced a buck of comps. And major stress and regret.

I wish the experts were right. We could all saunter down to our local casino to pay our bills. We would buy software that would teach us how to fund great lifestyles playing VP. Casinos would welcome us with open arms and baskets full of show tickets and free food vouchers. Our bankrolls would grow larger and our bets would increase. The casinos would have to put in $1,000 machines to attract more players.

If this sounds crazy, it's not as crazy as someone who believes the casino is a profit center. VP is entertainment. Entertainment costs money. It's up to you to decide how much you want to pay.

Some things need to be repeated.
Not eighty gazillion times!
