So, how is the tournament run? How long, what game, etc.

The tournament runs for a week.
There is first a qualifying round for 4 days. Single hand, with a variety of game options. Tournament of Champions qualifiers can play up to three 100 hand sessions per day per entry for the first four days. Only your best session score in the round will count.
The top 50 scorers move on to the final round, which consists of three more days competing with everyone in the same game type (Triple Double Bonus usually). Each qualifier can play up to three 200 hand sessions per day. Again, your best score in the round counts as your Tournament score.
Top score wins the grand prize, with other prizes for the Top 50.
