In deuces, a natural 3 of a kind doesn't trigger the bonus?

It has to be a dealt hand with a three of a kind payout. A full house will not trigger it. Neither will a four of a kind, even though it contains a three of a kind.

Perhaps, but what happens on final hands may seem even more than fair to the player.

While playing a deuces wild game, if you are dealt something like 33KQ2, you will get some multipliers. If the full house payout ends up being higher than the four of a kind payout (due to a high full house multiplier and a lower quad multiplier), and you draw another deuce after discarding the KQ, say yielding something like 33226, you will get paid the higher full house amount, even though most deuces wild games would score the final hand as a four of a kind instead of a full house.

So, one of the deuces evidently can stand in as an extra 3 while the other "becomes" an extra 6. Other possibilities get improved payouts as well, but this one is one of the more common exceptions in this game.

Ahh, I sincerely retract my outrage.

I played this for an hour or so the other day. It seems like it would be virtually impossible to play to strategy given the randomness of different multipliers occurring on different hands when evaluating holds. Everything I see refers to comparing a "high" multiplier on one hand vs a "lower" multiplier on another hand. Almost as if you would have to adjust the paytable every hand to calculate the correct play or just take a guesstimate.

I feel like the trend in the new games- like Wild!Wild!Wild! Poker is to make the game strategy so complex that one cannot even approach perfect play.

Even stranger, while playing deuces wild yesterday, I ended up with a natural quad (eights, I think), and a deuce, and since there was a 30 full house multiplier, it somehow counted as a full house!

I’ll have to check to be sure we are evaluating that one correctly.

It was the best result, since the multiplier for five of a kind was, I think, two or three. Still, a natural quad with a deuce counting as a full house seems strange, to say the least.
