december contest

Post by edog743 »

Back to back dealt royal flushes for the leader. Now I know for sure these contest's are rigged.
Most people struggle for alot of session's to get one decent hand. Back to back dealt royal's really webman?
I think the freeloader's are doing the right thing. Why pay to get raped and pillaged, when you can do it for free!

Yep, the freeloader's ARE doing the right thing.  Your original thought.

It would be more surprising if the game wasn't Dream Card. We almost certainly don't have our winner yet, as amazing as those hands were.

Welcome back, edog.

How many sessions with more than one dealt 4,000 hand do you expect in this contest?

That question should be directed to "edog"?  He's the one with the original thoughts.

billyjoe,
As a fellow gambler, I'd be willing to bet that "Freeloaders" such as myself are really carrying the freight for the site, via the ads.

Pay for click, automatic pop-ups and follow through purchases by "Freeloaders" must account for a nice chunk of change. The gold members are not privy to the great offers us "Freeloaders" get.
Were it not true, the ad buyers would be looking elsewhere to spend their money and this would be a totally player sponsored site. And if that happened, it would be a pretty boring place without the hope of a prize, cash or other wise. Something about gambling and the payment of money for a "chance on a prize".

Just saying.........

CK
"Freeloading" for the peeps.

Welcome back, edog.

How many sessions with more than one dealt 4,000 hand do you expect in this contest?Even in Dream Card, back-to-back dealt royals in a 100-hand TDB game are pretty incredible, with odds of 23,228,947.26 to 1 (approximately).  This takes into account the possibility that a dealt royal can be made by having any of the 20 sets of  4 royal cards dealt along with the dream card or having any of the 4 sets of 5 royal cards dealt without the dream card, using 26.7% as the dream card frequency with this game.  One must also consider the possibility that the back-to-back dealt royals could occur on any of the 99 pairs of adjacent hands in a 100-hand game, possibly more than once or with a longer streak than 2. Without the dream card, the odds of back-to-back dealt royals in a 100-hand game are 4,264,269,803.31 to 1 (approximately), about 184 times less likely than with the Dream Card. Some extremely rare events could happen more (or less) frequently than true odds with particular pseudo-random number generators (pRNG) without manipulation than if it were possible to have a truly random number generator, so one must be careful in drawing conclusions of subterfuge.  Any pseudo-random number generator has only a finite number of sequences even though for good generators, that finite number is quite large.  Many early generators using only 32 bits had a maximum period of only 2^32 -1 = 4,294,967,295 values before it would begin to repeat.  When the odds-to-1 of what you are trying to calculate approach the period of the pRNG, the generated frequencies may differ from theoretical probabilities.  Better generators with periods thousands of orders of magnitude longer have been around for 15 years; so I would presume the programmers at videopoker.com have access to them.

Posting here must be good luck.  Within an hour of Webman posting, "We almost certainly don't have our winner yet," someone passed the guy/gal with back-to-back dealt royals making Webman's statement prescient.A little more than an hour after posting here, I posted an 8th place score of 19770, which might still be in the top 10 in the morning if there is little play but "almost certainly" won't be there in 24 hours. Now, I didn't get any dealt 12,000 point hands, but I did convert a 2724 to 1 shot at drawing two AWAKs from dealt trip aces.  At this point this was the high score with a dealt without getting at least one 12,000-pointer.  Fine whine:  My prize for that has an EV of zero.

I want to also point out that Tedlark was on the leader board for about 20 minutes with 19,075 points earlier in the evening.
