I hate the weekly contest this week.

It is so painfully slow I just cant play it...it's putting me on major tilt. Why in the world would the casinos want a game this slow? The faster the game the more money they make. Rediculous!

I also have an issue with this week's game. Usually I play DDB, and videopoker's games usually feature a 9/6 paytable, with a RTP of 98.98% . This game, though, is a 6/5 paytable for a RTP of 94.66% . Add to that the requirement to play 2x the base, and it's just awful; I would never play this game in a casino with that paytable.

Given that everybody's competing with that same paytable, it doesn't matter so much to the contest results, but it certainly puts a par game much further out of reach, and it's not fun to imagine playing it for real. Just feedback from a (for now) free member. Thanks.

EDIT: Ok, I went and played some more while I thought about this. What's different here is that roughly 2/3 of the time, your dealt hand is upgraded to one of the other 2 pre-draw, and a significant amount of the time, that changes the hand from a draw-to-win to a pat hand that can further improve with the draw, and pays on all 3 hands. You have to pay for that somehow, so it's coming out of FH and Flush odds.

That also negates the usual calculation of HE by paytable, and optimal strategy. I'd be interested in knowing what the HE is on the game, but it must be in the 98-99% range with the hand upgrade prior to the draw. Thanks again!

Re: slow. If your computer is doing the same thing mine is, the wave files (sound files) are really slowing the action, even on turbo. Try muting the game; for me, that made the hands draw and display near-instantaneous.

Hi Babs! This is tringlomane from WoV!

And yes, the low full house pays on Super Hand Bonus is a bummer, but it has to be of the juiced deal potential in the "Super Hand", particularly with 3 of a kind. If you look at games with 3 of a kind being 15, the full house/flush pays are all poor. But it's 9/6 (full pay 9/7) with Triple Double Bonus (where trips pay 10).

They could have charged an extra 12 credits per round maybe, but that might have been too odd, or overshoot the likely IGT target of 98 to 99% too much. What I wonder is, what will the paytables look like on 96% games???
