I noticed this morning that the site now has over 100,000 members.  Cause for celebration, I think. maybe as cddenver has often suggested: double point day.

That is a large number....over 100K.  The vast majority apparently are just playing the games.  I looked at the Forum membership and it alone is 12,968.  That is a LOT of folks guys and gals!  "Active" on the forum, there are probably less than 100 so that means there are over 12,800 people reading what we post without commenting! Now THAT makes me paranoid.  90% of what I post is pure nonsense!

But the skunk thing pales in comparison to your no longer fitting in a maids uniform! Knowing that many log-in and don't respond makes me wonder how many actually understand or play at a semi near perfect play? It would be awful to know that many play just for fun and absolutely don't look at the paytables! Perhaps they should sit in on one of Dancers free classes!

I'd like to send my congratulations to the people running the site as well.  I've been here just over a year, and back then there were "only" 40K members.

It would be nice to see more people posting.  I think the reason more people don't post is that the information from a few members like shadowman,  MikeA, New2vp, faygo, oej719, Eduardo, rascal, Ed da Cat, etc., is of such scintillating perfection and brilliance that none of it can be added to or questioned.    My apologies to other deserving members who I forgot to list.

I was going to list those in my previous message, but thought that a full list would probably take down the server.

Well, it's been my experience over the years since the Internet has been what it is (i.e., since the mid 80's) that there are far more Lurkers than there are active Posters.  Nothing wrong with that.  I would like to meet more of the folks though.Of course if there were more active Posters...say 25% of those registered as members of the forum or around 3,000 instead of the 100 I estimated...can you imagine the load on the servers and the DASD required to store the message base?  Whew!
