Why is Stack Em High a processor hog?

I love Stack Em High but every time I play it, my processor gets strained and it raises the core temperature 30 degrees Celsius higher and I don't have this problem with any other game I play. Does it have something to do with the two-level screens for when Aces are held? I wouldn't think most of these video poker games would need that much memory or processor speed, the cards themselves look like they were designed on a Windows PC from the 1990s.

I have had issues with stack em high since they introduced it here early in 2020. The game is designed for casino play; not for a remote laptop/desktop. At the end of each draw, the game-frame refreshes twice (including payout items which is silly b/c they don't change within a game). It probably makes no difference on a dedicated casino-floor unit that has T1/T3 lines dropped to it. But, it IS sloppy coding.

I rarely play it anymore due to its clunkiness. It's not worth the aggravation.

Thanks for mentioning it, jconifer. We'll check to see if there is something causing the CPU gain for this game in particular.

Got your video, chiefsquirrel. You're not kidding, that looks awful. See my email reply. I'm sure we can get things running smoothly for you with some back and forth.

I agree, it is one of the slower running games, for whatever reason. Sometimes, it's so slow, I just give up and play a different game.
