Malicious web site appears during contests

A few times over the past week while plying the contests, a web page (supposedly from Microsoft) suddenly appears in place of the contest I was playing. The only way to get rid of the bogus page is to shut down my laptop.
The web page today, which looks like it comes from Microsoft but the URL doesn't, instructed me to download Windows 10 updates.....I didn't. I copied the URL, but for some reason it doesn't paste here.
A few days ago, another Microsoft looking page would suddenly appear with an explanation "note". The note said something like...Microsoft detected malicious software that will severely compromise your computer unless you immediately call (#xxx etc.) to have our expert technicians assist you in removal and unlock your computer, etc., etc. It did not let me copy the page or note. Again, I had to shut down my laptop in order to get rid of the page.
This is similar to when we occasionally get phone calls from "Windows" saying they detected a problem with our Windows operating system. At which my husband replies.."Windows? We live underground in a geothermal home. We don't have any windows". Then they hang up.
This is a brand new 2-in-1 laptop with updated Windows 10 and Kaspersky Internet Security. I'm using Chrome and the above has never happened anywhere else except videopoker.com pages that contain ads. I feel this problem must be coming from one of your ads somehow.
It's extremely frustrating to deal with. Especially when your contest game is interrupted and you lose points to boot!
Thank you
