Yeah, if the game is that fast...might be better off learning the "Royal Only strategy" Depends on prize pools though.

As for paytables, I am pretty sure it would never be any version of 10/6. Could be either of the other two I suppose.

I remember seeing the payback of a slot in tourney mode at Tunica Roadhouse once. It is a Red, White, and Blue game, and I think the payback is 2064%. You can never get a blank...neither of us have even advanced to the money round yet (~1 in 16), have probably done it about 10 times each now.   

Not sure if VP machines are set to deal more high cards often to warrant playing fast over playing with the highest return. There is a tournament mode switch for the traditional reel slot machines (only those are tournament compatible) that are in the tournament area. 2064% is very high return, no wonder I see so many of the Triple multipliers appearing.

It is understandable, but I really do not like how the casino schedules these tournaments during times when most people cannot make it. I have not won from participating in 4 of them, I would never pay to enter one, as it seems to be extended play version of playing slots in itself.

After looking closely at the Ti offer, I realized they are actually giving me $350 in free play (because we are going off peak)! So that coupled with the fees at the Rio, I booked the Ti.

Considering center strip properties, what would be the best way to stretch a 2-3k bankroll? I am a sucker for the glitz of Vegas and going off strip or downtown has no appeal to me. Because my local casino is HH, I would like to play at CET properties and Ti. According to VPFREE2, Ti has 96 DDB .50, Bally's has a .25 DDB 5 way progressive and the Quad has (IIRC) a good nickle DDB UTEX. I like to play all day and half the night. I assume too much .50 could wipe me out in a hurry - but has the best odds. I know I don't have nearly enough BR to play dollars. Or, does it just really come down to that one or two good hits to keep me going?

Working with the VP.com trainer, my DDB error rate is around 1%. Most errors are involving multiple high cards with 2 to a royal, or missing 3 card straight flushes against 1 high card. The only other game I know is DDB QQ, but that game is getting scarce. I don't think I could learn another game well enough to switch.

I would think if you're playing in a tourney where you think you need a royal to can, then you should probably go royal only. I haven't ever run any sims on tourneys though. I don't have a good grasp of field sizes or prize structures.

As for cet, I would recommend playing DDB at the quad (now linq) without playing ultimate x unless you want a lot more swing. This assumes it is still 9/5 of course (it was in February). Bally's 9/5 DDB progressive is also a good choice. Also planet hollywood has 9/5 Double Double Aces and Faces, which is 0.5% higher than 9/5 DDB. It's only on two game kings that are opposite of their two five star poker units which are near Planet Dailies.

Outside of this, I'd recommend learning 7/5 bonus strategy as well. That is often one of CETs best games on the strip. Bally's has it for cheap as pennies on their 25-play units (w/optional STP bet).

That would make sense to approach the tournament with trying to go for top heavy hands, at least DDB offers more higher payouts than JoB. At least there should be more parity than the contests on this website, where the games revolve around multiline 25/50/100 play thus it would require a dealt premium hand to win. I still would not go out of the way to participate in the tournament during the middle of the week

Well I'm here for the VP tournament.  In the past these tournaments have been 2 10 minute sessions over 2 days.  Well they changed the rules this time, not to the advantage of fast players.  It's 10 minutes or 999 credits.  If you use up your credits before the end of the 10 minutes that's it.  It happened to me.  I had over 2 minutes left of play when I used up my credits.  Needless to say I was not happy.
 
We'll see what this new format does to the scores.

Turned $100 into $1500 at Caesar's. Over 3 days I got quads dealt 12 times! Over the trip I never got a premium quad with kicker (dealt or otherwise) ?!

Variance. I hit 2 quads (one of them 4s) at SLS in a very small number of hands playing 40/10/6 DDB in Sept. G/f hit Aces in even less hands. At CET properties I had it a lot rougher in Vegas.

I'm happy to hear the 40/10/6 machines are still there! Plus all the other good games! I'm going to try 99.98% One-Eyed Jacks for sure this week... Sorry you didn't do well on them pokerpokerpoker. Are they still shoved in the far back left corner when you enter the casino from the "porte cochere" (aka the door with the weird alien statue)?

They are closest to the Sayers Club. Available in .05,dimes and quarters only.

Playing quarters, I lost about $400 - $500 both times we went there. Stayed about 3 hours each time.

My buddy had a blast playing them for dimes. Never won, but turned his money over many times.

SLS had the absolute worst drink service I had ever seen in any casino anywhere. The first time, the gal never came by the whole time. We even asked a suit walking by to send her over, still nothing. On the whole, the place was pretty dead. $5 FP if you show them your monorail pass.
