clwn2: I've had my best luck at Viejas(SW SD County) although last year did pretty good at Soboba too! No RF's but quite a few quads with and without kickers. Once played Pala for about an hour, no luck so moved to Cahuilla and came out $1300 ahead. Nope, don't go as often as yourself but I still enjoy my time there!Maybe Eduardo came to Calif. and cleared out all the royals here too! Some guys have all the luck

clwn2, I was not complaining ... well, OK, maybe I just a little.

Go ahead, I did.  Hahaha... But seriously, it is uncanny how the frequency of royals was the same between our play.  I know that you probably got some of your royals in bunches and had some dry spells.  I appreciate the stories about your experiences as I do from everyone else.  I consider myself an infrequent player in comparison to you and to most who live in or close to Vegas and other major gambling towns.  I count on the experience of those who play much more than I do.  I am surprised, however, given my lengthy 15 years playing VP that I have not been able to have a streak of royals other than the one or two that I am liable to get due to my play.  I am still waiting for that big year!

I do have to say that I was not aware that so many of our regulars play less often than I do.  It is nice that we have a forum here that has members that are trying to play responsibly and knowledgeably.

To clwn2: Cahuilla Creek casino is on the cutoff road to Palm Springs. Take 76 (78?) past Pala and keep goig inland about 10 miles, a left turn on the 374(I think)to the city of Anza. Casino is on your right about 3miles up.Just make sure its the Anza cutoff. Small casino 375 machines, about 20 are MG/MD game kings so its pretty cool. Not too crowded unless a bus stops by and occasionally, they do!self serve drink bar and a snack lounge. Compared to others, I like the non crowd the most. Try and enjoy!
Have'nt heard from Eduardo so he must have cleaned up the RF's.

Do you go often to So. cal casinos? Best? Luckiest? Overall? I read the Gaming guide monthly as pertains to socal gaming and look forward to Bob Dancers column. Jean Scott occasionally contributes but not regularly. She also stopped doing Frugal Fridays for the LV advisor.Maybe we'll cross paths, good luck

I have read a lot about Bob Dancer and have been to one of his classes.  His information is very helpful.  I use his strategy cards and VPFW program.  I have not done much research with other authors.  I do have a subsription to Strictly Slots that has useful information.

As far as South Cal casinos go I have been to most of them.   I live in Orange County so I frequent the ones closest to me.  Generally I consider them a rung below Vegas so I am not willing to drive too far.  I would rather save the long trips for Vegas.  I have been to Barona Valley Ranch, Viejas, Valley View, Harrahs Rincon, Casino Pauma, Pala Casino,
Pechanga and the Indian casinos in the Palm Springs area.
Barona and Viejas are too far to go and they don't have anything special as far as I am concerned.  I like the casino outside Palm Springs I think it is either Spotlight 29 or Spa something or other.  Morongo is horrible, no VP?

The area I know the most about are the casinos in the Temecula area.  I have been to them all.  I like casinos that I have had luck in and stay away from the ones I have not had luck in.  This affects my opinion of them of course.  My game of choice is quarter 9/6 DDB single line.  Sometimes I will play triple play quarters and 50 cent single line DDB  but not too often.  Due to this choice in games my favorite casino is Casino Pauma.  They have the most video poker because the majority of their machines are IGT multigames. About half of them have 9/6DDB the remainig are 9/5.

#2 Valley View has many VP machines and a quarter progessive.  I don't go there as much because it very crowded and the players club always has a long line.(This is after their remodel?)

Harrahs Rincon has lousy schedules at the quarter level for DDB.  I have not checked higher denoms.

Pala and Pechanga are the pits in my opinion. Schedules aside, I have not had much luck at either place and I have played at each of these casinos more than I care to share.  Needless to say, no royals in either place after 6 years of play.  I switched over to Casino Pauma around 2005 and have hit 5 royals there in that time.  In my mind, there is something wrong when the royals never show up.

Thats the south cal report.......

Jeepers! I have been to practically all socal. casinos . NOT: Agua caliente, Spa, Augustine, Red Earth, La Posta, Santa Ysabel and Golden acorn. Been to all the rest. Didn't stay long enough at Pauma to get an opinion but what I saw looked good. I like Soboba but not much VP.Valley view is nice but can get crowded.Fantasy springs and spotlight have limited VP with decent paytables but the locals park on them and play video keno so needless to say the selections limited. I played Harrahs rincon about 6 months ago, no RF's but several quads at 25 cent level. Budgeted $300 and walked away almost $500. Went 2 months later to Pechanga with my best man and spent 4 of that 500. Terrible  Best luck at Viejas and Valley view. Overall: Barona valley ranch. Sycuan has lots of VP also but if you don't care to drive out into SD county, better go to Pauma. San Manuel and Morongo, Forget it! My favorite saying: thats where the moron go! good luck

Shadowman: Thanks for all your input and feedback. It's nice to hear things from a locals perspective. (I'm assuming you live somewhere in Clark Co.) Perhaps it sounds like I'm sending flowers but that first hand knowledge is sometimes invaluable to me!On average, I vist LV at least 3 times a year so its really helpful to know things ahead of time. Again, my gratitude
