So sorry, no excuse for not cleaning room. Put all that money in redo hoping to improve the worst hotel in the city and then drive people away. Even if short on help then only rent the rooms out that you can maintain. Only one chance for a first impression. Still, I hope you had a good time at Kid Rock.

Thanks, had a great time. at the concert New Pioneer was fully booked. One mistake I won't repeat. I have to give them kudos for one thing, not charging us even though technically our reservation was non-refundable.

well they did promise a clean room when you booked. If the cleaning staff had not gotten to it yet they should have informed you of that fact. I have had rooms that they let us check in but we’re not cleaned yet. They informed of that when we checked in. The staff got to it in a hour or so. This was at the riverside on junkets.

According to housekeeping, it had been cleaned. They blamed the toilet on plumbing or a sewer backup. BTW, third straight time I have been checked into dirty, uncleaned rooms. The last two were with my late wife at Harrah's as I think I mentioned earlier in this thread. In so far as I drive to both Laughlin (and Vegas), I may stay in Bullhead the next time I go there. Probably would be for a concert as I prefer Vegas.

If you are looking for a non-casino hotel near Laughlin, there are two great alternatives. First is a cabin at Katherines Landing. It's about three miles east of the bridge on 68 and is literally a world away.
The other is a more traditional hotel whose name I forget but it is right off the intersection of Casino Drive and Needles Highway. Lots of snowbirds stay there between their free rooms in the casinos.
It's the Bay Shore Inn or something similar. Just stay on Casino Dr for a few miles past Harrahs and it is on the left just before Needles Highway.

BR, thanks. We had the dog so our choices were limited. Originally, we wanted to be close to the concert venue. New Frontier was good that way. Days Inn proved perfect for us all things considered. We were able to drive to Edgewater and shuttle to the event center. One further note, gas prices were $1.00 + less in Bullhead.

Did a return trip to Laughlin this past weekend for a concert at the Laughlin Event Center. No gambling. Some comments on the trip. We stayed again at the Days Inn in Bullhead City. Nice place that is pet friendly. We had a small dog with us that is a service animal. No extra charge for her but normally $25. Saw at least 1/2 dozen other dogs there. Room was clean and you get a nice breakfast included. Eggs, make your own pancakes/waffles, biscuits, a meat, cereal, etc. Driving time to the Edgewater casino to pick up the shuttle was about 10-15 minutes on Saturday night. Once again, gas prices were significantly lower in Bullhead. $599 on casino drive in Laughlin. $4.05 at Circle K in Bullhead. Even better, I paid $333.9 at Sam's club, right across the river. Same price at Fast Track across the street from the Days Inn. One other note, Dennys and IHOP in Bullhead are open 24/7.
