George Washington never slept there, and neither did I. But I did swim and gamble there.

I can't say we swam there, but we did stay, and play there once, back when the Tropicana was part of the Penn operation. My strongest memory from that trip is being dealt a straight flush while playing 50 line 5c bonus poker.

It’s funny how older memories stay with us even as we get older………Now where did I just set my glasses down? 😬 😂. If anyone wants to know the cubic inch displacement of various V8 engines from the 1950s, just let me know. 🙂. I’ve never been to Vegas, but we did make a donation a couple of times in the 1980s to the one in Atlantic City.

Tropicana had FULL pay poker machine back in the 90's and one of my First 20K hits was at the Tropicana. The hosts were wonderful and even comped you to entertainment at other casino's like the Desert Inn where I got to see Don Rickles for a 4th time RIP.

Between Don Rickles and Red Skelton, one could never keep a straight face. Little bit of trivia. My dad played in the Army band during the war. Probably around 1944, Red was performing for the troops and the Army band was playing for the skits. Red would torture the band by turning to them and doing something incredibly funny or riskque. That was on purpose so the band would mess up their notes. My dad said Red would zero in on him on Tenor Sax and of course laugh his behind off when my dad messed up. Growing up in our early teens we never missed a Don Rickles show or Red Skelton.

The other night, on You Tube, I watched a bunch of Don Rickles being on the Carson show. A couple hours worth. Old school humor at its best!
