Station Casinos Huge Monster

Post by mmmmm »

Don't play at the Santa Fe, they are sucking cash to pay for their expansion.  You might be able to see the alteration in the games, where they have taken out winning combinations.  I'll bet my last dollar twenty five they are running computer programs that control the winning.  There isn't any cycles either.  Play your way???  No way..it's more like be victimized by their corporation.

I had no luck at Sante Fe Station.  Ended up plopping down at an empty chair on an empty bank of machines next to the garage entrance to wait for my wife to get her fill there.  I have no comment on "mmmmmm's" post.  I have no information to validate or refute that statement.

On the other hand, I had a blast at Texas Station and another washout at Cannery.  I'll most likely return to Fiesta Henderson but will not return to Boulder Station.  That place was a madhouse!  We didn't stop at Sam's Town because we'd been there once before a couple of years ago.

Of the outlying casinos we visited this last trip, Silverton was one that I'll definitely return to.  I looked forever trying to find full-pay machines there.  Finally found them close to the acquarium.  I had to do a double-take when I saw them.  There was a bank of 8 or 10 machines with Bob Dancer's image on them and the proclaimation "Approved by Bob Dancer!".  Sure enough, DDB was 10/6.  I know Dancer conducts seminars there (or they are conducted in his name!)

I like the SIlverton a lot, too.

As to Santa Fe and Cannery, I've had hit or miss at both casinos.  I always find that enough trips to anywhere and eventually, you get a good run.

My personal favorite is the new Sports Book at Green Valley Ranch.  And in Green Valley a nice new bar called Rush Hour over at Sunset and Annie Oakley.  Not too loud, really nice bar staff and I've hit two royals and a handful of aces in 6 weeks.

Next time I go to Vegas(around Halloween)I have to drag myself off the Strip and explore some of these places that I keep hearing about.  The problem is that I stay on the Strip and invariably go to the places that I can walk to.  I went to Palace Station this last visit and hit quad queens on the first $20 I spent.  Drove past Green Valley Ranch but didn't check it out-definitely this year.

Didn't make it to GVR.  Will have to put it on the list for our next trip...whenever that may be.  There's only so many places you can hit on a three-day trip and we had a full slate this last time.  Especially is time short when you are spending most of it looking for machines that are not prominently advertised.  That's the problem I ran into at Boulder Station and Sante Fe Station and to some degree at Texas Station.

Note that I found that in a couple of instances, the machines were labeled "Optimum Poker" or something like that rather than Double Double Bonus.

Stations Casinos (eg. Santa Fe Station) are required by law in Nevada to provide a fair and random VP. In addition, their slots must be controlled by an RNG (all results are possible). I saw the same type of post earlier when reading about Indian casinos. It seems like whenever anyone encounters a stretch of bad luck they immediately assume the machines are fixed. What you no doubt experienced is just poor luck.

If everyone had your experience the casino would quickly go out of business. We all have our luckier casinos and our unlucky ones. Most likely there are others who've had the exact opposite experience.

PS. I won at Santa Fe Station the only time I was there.

Optimum Poker is a Stations brand (they advertise 100% payback). They contain only positive VP and accrue points at 1/2 the rate of other machines. They usually have FPDW(.25 only), FPDB, 10-6 DDB, Loose Deuces and sometimes FP Joker Poker in various denoms up to $1.

As far as I know Bob does all of his classes personally.

Silverton also has a few 10-7 DB machines elsewhere in the casino. The last time I checked these machines accrue points at the full rate (the BD approved machines are half rate). So, if you're into DB look for these older coin-droppers straight down the main aisle from the new buffet.

SM,
I saw several full-pay DB machines but that was not what I was looking for on this trip.  Eventually, I'll expand my horizons, but for now, I'm concentrating on Double Double Bonus.  And, to make it more difficult in finding machines, I was looking only for nickel machines!  They are out there, but you sure have to dig deep to find them.

At Texas Station, I found the "Optimum" machines but had to go to $.10 per credit to get the 10/6 I was looking for.  I did very well at those machines too.

Your definition of "Optimum" will come in handy the next time out when I visit the Stations casinos.  I do recall eventually finding them at Boulder Station after a 2-hour search!

Fiesta Rancho has plenty of DB, DDB, FPDW, LDW and Joker Poker machines in nickel denoms; just look for anything with "Optimum Play" on it.
