Has anyone here been to the Venetian?
I'm wondering how you liked it. How does it compare to other hotels on the strip?

We stayed at the Venetian once and enjoyed it very much, it is absolutely beautiful. However, we did not enjoy the casino as much as the MGM and although we are moderate players we have never been comped a room.I felt they catered to the high rollers. The MGM is our favorite on the strip (Green Valley off) and we haven't paid for a room there in years.

The Venetian is considered by many to be pretty tight re: comps. It is a fabulous property though.
GVR is a great alternative to the busy Strip if you don't need or want to see a show. Easy in and out from the airport. Mandalay on the Strip is pretty nice. Anyone played there lately?

Only been to the Venetian for dinner - Emeril's Delmonico steakhouse. (If you're a carnivore like hubby and I are .... <YUM !>) We stayed at the Mandalay Bay last year for our homeymoon (10 days) and they struck us as rather tight on comps. Maybe now that their "Players Club" is rolled into the MGM Grand one - they've always been very good to us - it'll be better. (Just One Broad's Opinion: I SO prefer THE Hotel to MGM Grand ..... strictly for style reasons. For gambling/comps, gotta give it to MGM. Better machines for me and hubby prefers their craps tables.)

I went to the Venetian in April and my husband and I played about $500 a day (total for the 2 of us) and Ive been getting many comp offers. Now we played on one card so that may be the reason. They offered me 3 nites over Laborday but the airfares were too high from NY for it to be worth our while.

Leaving for Vegas in 36 hrs. Last 2 nights will be first time staying at Venetian. Will let you know how it goes. We love to play at the 1st bar as you come down the stairs into the casino. Fair VP but great drinks.

Stayed at the Venetian the weekend after Memorial Day this past year. The room was beautiful and so comfortable. Had a 3 night comp which was great. Had some awesome luck 2 nights in a row on VP playing at the bar with all the Venus statues. Ate at Grand Lux (great) and room service (fair) which they gave us a $150 comp for at the end of the trip. I love the little food court where you can get early morning coffee and breakfast items and sit at a nice table. Hiked over to Caesar's one night and enjoyed 3rd row tickets to the incomparable Celine Dion (not a comp--I wish). Her show is sublime and if you plan ahead you can buy them at face value from ticketmaster. I actually planned the trip around when (4 months ahead) we could get the best seats. Spouse also had so really good luck playing the $10 Wheel of Fortune machines in the London Club area at the Aladdin. Plus, we saw Sylvester Stallone going in for his birthday party

So you're saying, basically, it was a really great trip until you saw Stallone?
