With the Mayweather and Pacquiao announcement today, I have never seen hotel rates go up so high. Higher than the Consumer Electronic Show week or New Years Eve.

If you've booked a trip to Vegas prior to, you are fortunate.

Ring-side seats are only $30k apiece    And MGM isn't sharing with Caesar's properties.

I suppose now having NOIR membership will have its benefits, half of the seating at the arena has been reserved by MGM for their high rollers, including one that will take out a million dollar marker for the rights to 8 tickets at face value.

Pay-per-view on my comfy sofa is a lot cheaper, less crowded and no lines to the bathroom.

From what I've heard fight nights in Vegas were always the best for blackjack teams etc., wonder if some of those are gearing up for this one?

Even at the projected cost of $99 (and $10 more for High-Definition), it is still going to be a lot cheaper than trying to catch it at Vegas. Even cheaper if you split the cost with a few buddies and watch it in someone's living room. The local casinos here in California will show the PPV events, and it gets very crowed. Not sure how much pandemonium this one will have.

I've heard about this to be true from Gambling With An Edge radio show (by Bob Dancer and R.W. Munchkin). They will come dressed in the same theme (e.g. Cowboy hat when there is a rodeo) since it will be harder to focus on who is an advantage player and those who only visit that one occasion. Of course refusing membership to a casino club that card counters do make it even tougher.
