Which Boyd property is the best to stay at

Post by mulleon »

I know there are many variables when deciding this.

Coming 1/29 though 2/1

I will have car.

Not planning on golfing (Suncoast is close to several courses).

To cold to worry about the pool.

Just coming to gamble a little maybe see a show or two. I like Downtown but it has been my experience that the rooms are small and they most likely won't have a fitness center. I have not stayed at a Boyd property downtown.

All of their properties are great. You shouldn't be disappointed staying at any of them.

Mainstreet Station downtown--We have stayed there the last five trips. Free shuttle to SamsTown and the Strip(if you care). They usually have $10.00 a day food credit with your stay. Lots of VP there also! Good restaurants!   We like it.

OrleansBelieve it or not I was actually NOT aware that Boyd owned Orleans.....can someone tell me when they acquired this favorite casino of mine????    My next Vegas jaunt is definitely going to include some nights at this classic joint! But i truly miss the Stardust......I had many fond memories, and stays, at the Stardust back in the mid to late 1990s when Boyd owned it and actually made it a "hip" place to party from 1995 thru 1999......I was sad when it was shuttered and demolished to make way for....for.....what exactly took the place of Stardust again???   Anyone Anyone?  ANyone?   Bueller?  Bueller?

For those interested parties; The Orleans was purchased by Boyd Gaming on July 1, 2004 in a 4 property deal that included The Suncoast, The Gold Coast, The Barbary Coast and The Orleans. Purchase price was 1.3 billion. "B Connected."

Would those be "Stardust Memories" DaBurglar?

Would those be "Stardust Memories" DaBurglar?wow  I had no clue the orleans has been a boyd property that long.....although I do know Boyd tends to downplay their ownership of many of their casinos, for reasons only they know.....unlike WYNN  or Caesars, companies that WANT people to instantly know where and what their properties are.......Doesnt anyone else have Stardust Memories???   Especially 1995 thru 1999......during that time they still managed to have the BEST sportsbook in terms of overall play offerings and value for the discerning sports bettor (i,e.  better parlay odds and payouts, more options for betting etc.)

My best "Stardust Memories" had to be back, waaaay back in the mid 80's.  Back then my bff; her hubby,  my hubby and I had a lot of  fun there.  That was before I fell in love with Football; so my memories of their sports book only included the great hot dog they served.  lol   The other three had a ball there, no pun intended.  We also frequented a Mexican Restaurant they had there at the time and a muy bien time was had by all.

I spent many a profitable weekend at the Stardust back in the day.

Comps were easy and the VP plentiful.

My biggest memory that still haunts me today is Joan Rivers, sans makeup and wearing pj's cutting in front of me to get into the coffee shop.
