Tipping on check in

Post by ranger2103 »

I've heard that if you slip a $20 under your credit card on check in and ask any comp upgrades, you can get a better room?  Anyone try this?

first where are you staying? next get a players card, if your play is is enough when you get ready to check out go to the players club and see what they will comp for you. I have a lot of friends that asked me the same question and every single one got comps at checkout time. As far as tipping at the check in desk dont bother. Most of the check in people do not have the authority to upgrade you without a players club rep or manager. If you need any more help just let me know.

I've never tried it myself as I usually don't care what kind of room I am in since I'm rarely in the room. Most of my rooms are comped as well ... however, over on vpfree recently there was a thread about this exact manner of tipping where a few people indicated it worked for them.

I assume my first time I will not get comps? True.  Not when you first check in.  Comps are based on your playing history at a particular casino.  What you want to do is go to every casino you can go to and sign up in their player's club.  It's free.  Often, you will receive a coupon book or "fun book" that will have some good values in it.  Things like "match play" and 2-for-1 meals and show tickets at half-price.  Then, when you get home, you will very likely start getting free room offers in the mail or at least discounted room rates. But you HAVE to sign up for the player's club and then use the Player's Card in the machines you play in that casino so they have a verification that you are spending money on that casino's machines.

So I can get some coupons right away though?YES.  Those coupon books and fun books are given in most casinos when you sign up for the player's club the first time.  You can use them immediately.  Some are better than others.  But basically, take anything they give you when you sign up.  You can always throw it away if you don't want it.

When you go to Vegas mention that you are a Senior member of this forum and are taking part in the Beta Games.
Also feel free to casually mention that you know OEJ (The Fa La La La La.... La la la la dinger, The Oprah of oil). You will be showered with freebies.
P.s. The hot machines are always on a wall, not out in the middle. Oh and stay away from motor scooter riders.
I am a nice guy even though you suckered me in on that challenge.

"the Fa La La La La.... La la la la dinger"??? No, i told you he's dropping the homage to Dancer, and replacing it with an homage to "shadow". He's going by "Richard Cranium" now. Get it through your head, once and for all.
