$2 a point for VP is standard for Marquee Rewards in terms of status. The probably have avoided changing M Resort for fear of local backlash. The comp accrual rate on your player's card varies by property. In STL, it is 0.06% coin-in with an every day kiosk multiplier that is often 2X...blah.

From what I can see, it seems to vary property by property but the core benefits are the same. I read that you need 1000 points at the Tropicana to earn $1 in comps, at $2 coin in per point, it will be at a rate of 0.05% coin-in. I am guessing the compromise to that is better mailer offers.

OMT was able to confirm for me in the past that at the M Resort it is $1 coin in of VP per 1 point and 333 points is $1 in comp (or cash back) at a rate of 0.30% coin in, there is a separate tier score on Marquee Rewards which is set for $3 coin in per point. The great benefits are on the Executive Producer tier which will require 125k points every six months, $375k coin in ugh. I do not know if it is $3 coin in per tier point or $2 per point at the Tropicana.

With the VP inventory available at the Hollywood STL, I think I can live with that low rate of cashback, but the tier point earning is not revealed online like the other PNG properties.

I took a trip there myself two weeks ago and I am in the process of writing up a trip report. My offers were not great for having no recent play at Penn National Gaming properties, and I personally did not think too highly of it. I agree with what OMT stated.

I only think it is good if you are into properties with good pool areas and can spend $50 on meals often.

We expected to receive some mail offers from the Tropicana after our visit there in late June. We now have them in hand, and it is surprising, and disappointing, how different they are.

For September and October, my wife, in addition to three comped nights and two free show tickets each month, has $125 slot play and a $90 food credit (actually, $30/day) each month.

I have the same three nights and free show tickets each month, but my slot play is only $50, and food credit is $45 ($15/day).

I can only assume that my offer is substantially less than hers because I had the audacity to come out ahead there. I really detest this increasingly common casino practice of not treating winners and losers the same - we all are willing to take on the risk, and, in my opinion, ought to be rewarded equally.

Did you go to either of their shows? We went to one - I think it is called "Opening the Rock Vault", or something similar. We enjoyed it.

We have been fans of the Tropicana for years. The remodel is a few years back. The rooms are very nice and the staff treat guests very well. The Paradise Tower is smaller but if you want to be close to the casino ask for it. Video poker is on par with MGM Mirage. I always stay Sunday thru Thursday on slower nights.
Offers are everywhere because July thru September is the slowest time of the year, with August being the slowest.
Green Valley Ranch Resort is about 10 miles away.
Silverton Casino/Bass pro shops is 5 miles away both offer better pay tables. I play exclusively at the Tropicana because they treat us very well.

Very disappointing to hear OMT about the mailer. The $30 a night will barely cover a meal, your only choice will be the Laugh Factory for the show, not sure how they come up with the freeplay amount particularly when the comp earning percentage was one of the lowest I've ever seen.

About Raiding the Rock Vault, due to undisclosed reasons between the band and the casino, they have parted ways. Their last performance was at the end of last July, and performances after that were cancelled. It supposedly won many Best of Vegas awards. I see Best of Vegas awards all over the place, I do not know which Best of Vegas awards are seen as credible.

I'll have my personal (losing) trip report out soon. I stayed at the lesser Club Tower, I refused to pay $15 more a night + resort fees for the Paradise Tower upgrade. I got what I deserved for not upgrading.

It is looking like the Tropicana is not worth a return visit to me.
