thanks otabill. quit drinking 20 years ago, so I am not affected. you are correct, this article ties in nicely to the topic of corps cutting back, to improve bottom line. with a slow economy, incomes below 2006 levels, folks cutting back on gambling, I guess this should come as no surprise.

I've no issue with this. Eliminating freeloaders should improve service for those of us who do drink.It will be interesting to see if player spending is impacted. Those who drink too much and spend too much money should be unaffected.

Bill Ryan. None of the savings are passed onto employees or employees. I don't drink either but still see this as bad news. Service will not get better and might get worse. Around here in Pennsylvania, you average seeing a waitress at the machines once every 4 to 5 hours.

99% of VP decisions are obvious and the ones that aren't typically don't cost the player too much. As long as I don't get drunk enough to miss holds completely, it won't cost me much extra. Definitely costs less than paying for the beer on the Strip. The bigger issue with drinking is I'm more likely to keep gambling for longer. But I don't tend to increase my bets, otherwise it really could be dangerous to the bankroll.

I've recently heard the red-light/green-light system requires $12 coin-in within 2 minutes to initially turn the light green. Not sure if that pace needs to be constantly maintained though. If so, I'm hoping TAG Lounge doesn't adopt it until after Sept. 13th; I would rather not play at a 300 hand/hr pace if I can avoid it.

I think you will need to time things right by only playing when the bartender is not preoccupied, and after your 10th round, you immediately request a drink.

Beer at a gift shop does indeed cost way more, even with a special of 2 large 16oz cans for $8-$10. Thus this is a true advantage play.
