I dont like the public giving money to private entities that don't give back! Other than that, I don't think a physical location really is going to be a problem. Sex, gambling, etc., is everywhere, the internet makes it so where you live means less.???   Gambling is still VERY restricted and STILL Illegal in the vast majority of the USA.....despite this, it is ALWAYS wrong and improper for pro athletes to engage in any wagering......ERGO, having a pro league presence in a city like VEGAS which is truly unique, with its ubiquitous gambling and other vices, is an exceptionally, NON-normal situation. No one is saying other major cities are lacking in vices.....but to claim Vegas is NOT different is absurd.   The whole culture and value system in Vegas is uniquely styled to fit its own image and needs.   AGAIN.....if this is not the case, then WHY have all the Pro leagues avoided, even quashed outright, Vegas as a home for a team for so many Decades???   Answer:  because they know its a risky, potentially harmful mixture, and we will see it sooner than later now that the Raiders are there to stay, to be followed closely by Hockey and others. To be fair.....I HOPE I am wrong, and yes, if....IF the leagues want to properly police and monitor and structure their presence in Vegas, and provide players and staff with needed guidance and info on how to avoid trouble, then clearly this can work.....but I doubt it.    Human nature being what it is, along with greed and temptation.....

Hey Ted. Here's the best reason for one former pro athlete not to gamble. He's just not good at it.

Add that to what he's lost to Michael Jordan.....
He pretty well sucks at gambling

Not to pick nits, but I think Utah is the only place in CONUS where it's illegal to gamble.... on anything.
