Getting More Out Of A Vegas Trip

This being a VP forum we obviously talk about video poker and our results. However by being a player it opens you up to many offers that are extras at no cost.
My wife and I will be in Vegas for a week in September. During that week we will have been invited to a "cash" grab at Sams Town. This is by invite and you get to choose a hat and whatever the prize says you win that amount, up to 1,000 dollars. Everyone wins something. The offer also includes an ice cream social and three free nights.
Then we are off to the Orleans for a free slot tournament that also includes three nights. First place is 8,000 dollars and they pay down to 100th place. Only 200 invited so with two of us playing our odds increase.
Next we go to Gold Coast for a video poker tournament with a 3,000 first place prize plus free rooms. I won one of these a couple years ago at Sams Town for a 5,000 prize. (I wrote about it on this site).
These are all Boyd properties this trip. We have way more food comps than we can possibly ever use from previous stays.
In October there is a 75,000 video poker tournament at the Rio that we have an invite to plus rooms.
I would guess we are in Vegas 60-70 days a year and I can not remember the last time we paid for a room and we have never paid a resort fee. We are not big bettors but we do play a lot of hours when we go.
We get flights really cheap as we are able to take advantage when they send us flights at a discount often 75% off. Of course it is with an airline that many don't like (Spirit) but after 100 flights we have had very few problems. A few delayed flights but always got there the same day.
These are just some of the perks we get every month that are often over looked by many but they all count towards the bottom line. Anyone who gives a casino loyalty will get these offers. At the end of a year we often have a few thousand dollars made through these offers and also they are fun.
Just another way to look at gambling in Vegas.
