Tier Credit Calculus

Post by FAA »

Harrah’s full pay machines are dollar, so 1 TC per $20 coin in. Bally’s full pays are .25/.50/1.00, so 1 TC per $50 coin in. I guess the play is to cheap it out at Harrah’s with extreme discipline. Any thoughts?

FAA: Are you looking to accrue tier credits or win money ? Once you establish your purpose you will know which machines to play.

Lower paytable machines take $10 coin in to get 1 Tier Credit. Like Jeter said, what is your goal?

Good point, Jeter. Obviously, those are mutually exclusive goals in a damn casino. I would prefer to actually win money. Thus the answer seems to be lay off the attractive Harrah’s inducements. Trojan horse.

What are the "full pay" machines at Harrahs that are $20/point, and the ones at Bally's that are $50/point?

But then, if Harrahs is 9/6 JOB, and Ballys is 8/5 bonus, why is the solution to lay off the better game at Harrahs, if accumulating tier credits is not important?

They have a couple of 20 per point $1 games @ Bally's in corner near stairs to the elevators.

Really? This is news to me. So they do employ the Harrah’s model after all. Just in an obscure spot. That could potentially save me a marina side trip. I do like the H carousel set up. It’s easier to dismount and switch machines or leave the area entirely. Man, was I lucky to break even there. I was -$160 & reeling!
