to carconter: what is the price per ticket of amtrak travel to atlantic city from ny city using public transit as needed too?

amtrak shouldn't be as expensive as it is. for human cargo or "passengers", trains would and could and should be a bigger part oftravel across these united states, the whole country, and not just localized limited sections between certain regions or within city limits. there should be a reasonably priced option to travel by train between seattle and miami and every place in between.

Cheapest Amtrak fare I could find from Baltimore to Philadelphia was $ 55. NJ Transit from Philly to AC is $10.75 or $ 4.90 for a senior. Not bad. maybe you can get a bus from Baltimore to Philly cheaper than Amtrak. Lunch at Knife and Fork in AC this afternoon. They are only open for lunch during the week on Friday. For $ 17.50 you get a big salad or soup, entree and desert. All dinner portions and the bartenders make great martinis. If you are in town on a Friday, it's worth it.
