Casino Gifts

Tropicana love mailers. I will grant them that much. In AC for 4.5 hours at the sports book before realizing that I had a nice pillow gift event. I hopped on the jitney to claim it. I arrived at 4:30 PM, well within the 2-8 PM window. But the voucher gave me a 6:30 PM pick up time! Their plan: hold victims hostage while they lose hundreds of dollars awaiting a "gift." Fortunately, the Rewards Center staff immediately surrendered said pillow and I avoided a pillow fight. I would have left without it. People have places to go. Casinos manipulate their schedules for profit. It's a constant battle.

It pays to read those pesky mailers.

I got one from Hollywood Casino Joliet a couple weeks ago advertising a 4 piece bedding set: comforter one week; sheets the next; pillows the 3rd week; and, a throw blanket another week. It clearly stated pick up anytime between noon and 8:00 pm. I was there within the allotted window and didn't gamble a penny inside the casino. Grab and run.

That is a nice haul. You do enough gambling there most trips, so they will not even consider penalizing you. I just worry about the offers ending. Should I just drop $50 at their sports book on grab and go days so at least I have some visible business with them? I will bypass busting on poor tables that way.

I'd be careful with the grab and run thing. Casino management frowns upon it.
Bears make money, bulls make money, hogs get slaughtered. It's true in life as well as Wall Street.

I have played at Hollywood Casino Joliet, IL once in the past couple years. I stopped there on August 15, 2020, dropped $300.00 and left. Prior to this I hadn't stopped in there since August of 2018.

And in Chicago, the saying goes: "Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered."

This is why I am considering some nominal sports book play. I make a shrewd pick or two, pick up my stuff and hopefully cash in next time. All parties get something. I don’t get steamrolled by the pathetic pay tables from hell. I’m not enduring that situation again. I mean, what are we doing? I’m in AC.
