I agree that the fries pictured are way over the top. Don't eat fries at all, but if you must, then don't eat a year's worth at one sitting.

I acknowledged their unhealthful quality. Carbohydrate and Cholesterol jackpot! I will return to their bacon wrapped shrimp with the crab cakes next time for an extra two bucks.

Happy Hour inflation hit. Crab cake portion -50%, but price -22%. New Water Dog menu really is a dog. Lump of coal feeling for me. I will henceforth lean towards the cheeseburger, pork and short rib three buck sliders. The latter is on the left.

FAA, have you ever tried Pic A Lili Pub? It's a local bar that's across the street from The Irish Pub and close to Resorts. They've got great chicken wings/tenders and drinks that are very affordable.

Yeah. I did a shrimp special last year. It’s got tons of “atmosphere.”

I recently returned to White House Sub Shop. Covid has badly diluted the experience. No entering to discuss your order details with the makers. Just order through an open window, hope they get it right and wait until your name is yelled. Scene looks like a drug deal about to be consummated. They left out the oil, which provides moisture and contrast. The Half Special is still a great sub at its usual size, with extra ham, salami, provolone, cap. Like casinos, it never closes. But still a bit hungry. $10.45 with tax. Hard Rock outpost allows a more personal touch and seating; out of my way this trip. Most add the hot peppers, but I hate them.

I went the pescatarian route yesterday. Crab cake at Water Dog, shrimp cocktail at Hard Rock. The presentation is impressive. Parsley, sauce, lemon slivers. Sherbet from Resorts food court ended a low calorie day.

Dougherty’s Steakhouse & Raw Bar prix fixe lunch. Terrible weather means New England Clam Chowder with salt pork, Yukon gold potatoes and surf clams. The ribeye steak sandwich has Havarti cheese coating the balsamic onions and horseradish. Dessert is a moist brownie with real whipped cream and orange peel shavings. From my seat I overheard a guy at bar order the same. Great minds think alike. Ketchup tastes homemade. I prefer a non toasted hoagie; a minor issue. This is a meal to savor.
