No dining report from your positive outing today FAA? Even from the supermarket?

I was still too shocked from the dealt quad deuces. Glad I cut my lunch time short. I got back on the hot machine just in time for a nice pay out.

Back to DSRB for lunch. Same appetizer and entree. New England Clam Chowder less than piping hot. Same great ribeye sandwich. The chef has taken artistic license with dessert. It is now a layered carrot cake topped with a peanut brittle, a pleasant surprise. No sugar rush, but little sugar consumed. I had to ask for silverware, napkins and my card back. Service is nonexistent. Staff is laser focused on prepping for Happy Hour, when they’re actually slammed.

That's annoying, but the food looks good especially the dessert.

Do they always place the meat dead-center of the bread along the seam? I would tear off the edges of the bread to dip into the soup.

I love the food so much I took a $2 jitney to get there. You tolerate the service; maybe the tip sends a message. But I doubt it. Only one server, and an utter space case at that. Everyone is so busy with chores that lunch service feels like an intrusion. A roll from the renowned town bakery for the chowder is a good idea! But carbs are my enemy. It’s a complex sandwich. The melted havarti cheese covers quarter size onion balls.

I would have asked to have it piping hot. Can't stand soup that is not hot. If you can't do anything else, at least serve your coffee and soup hot. And your milk and salad cold.

Yes, of course you’re right. I will make my sentiments known in any reoccurrence.

Of course this would not be necessary when enjoying Gazpacho or Vichyssoise.

After my Caesars SF today, I treated myself to another lunch special. The clam chowder was superb and hit the spot given the hail outside. I also enjoyed my ribeye sandwich topped with a generous onion serving and cake and whipped cream. It never gets old. Service is still a nightmare. I was the only patron upon my entrance. But the two tables I preferred at either end were still filthy and in disarray from earlier patrons. The waitress used the most impolite phrasing imaginable before clearing silverware: “Is it just you?”
