Is there a need for beach bars? The few times I went down to the beach along the boardwalk, the crowds were fairly sparse. There are numerous places on the boardwalk to buy drinks.

A good beach bar with reasonable prices, maybe. A casino run one, not so much.
few years ago, I found an AC tourists guide from the mid 1970s that listed all the bars in the city. There were hundreds of them, now there are a dozen or so non-casino bars.

They're not necessary, but I'll welcome them, especially there. I'm sure that they'll capture a lot of revenue simply by the location, location, location principle. Landshark is a combination restaurant/bar and doing well, but they are rather inconveniently up the boardwalk. They're trying to stay relevant with full page AC Weekly ads and coupons. I should give them a try. Basically, I need all the options that I can get at my disposal to avoid reentering the casino and depleting my funds. So welcome news for me. I can kill an hour without getting killed in the casino? Let's indulge there. I know that drinks are free in the casinos, but too much temptation for the undisciplined to lose it all.

I've heard very little of the Irish Pub in recent years. That was the start of many a happy adventure in the late 90s.

What little buzz there is seems to be from an older clientele that doesn’t exactly go online shaking pom poms for businesses.

Bungalow Beach at Tropicana is definitely overpriced and overrated, but the scenery can be good.

AC beach bars are, to me, an excellent place to relax and celebrate the fruitful gains of a well-earned winning session inside the walls. Otherwise, avoid.
