99.91% Double Joker Wild at Caesars AC

Post by lizste »

I was planning on stopping by Caesars AC for a day or two during the tier multiplier that is happening later in April. Does anyone have an update if the 99.91% Double Joker Wild machine still exists at Caesars? I checked vpfree2 and it seems like the entry hasn't been updated since pre-covid.

I was wondering if I still needed to brush up on my Double Joker gameplay. If not, I'll be happy to just grind it out on the JoB machines.

Thanks!

Update about the VP at Caesars AC:

The entire Video Poker section on the first floor is undergoing construction/renovations. The machines have been removed from the floor and the area is blocked off. The only VP machines remaining are on the 2nd floor by the rewards desk and the high limit area.

Disastrous news. I want to go this week for the 5X tier points offer. But the first floor is VP bread and butter. The smoke free second floor and HL room are poor pay table booby traps! I'm not a magician. I suppose that it's perfect if they somehow position JOB progressive bank away from the waitress door. A very frustrating, annoying location forever. My prayers of averting that crap show may finally be answered.

FAA, Harrah's Joliet is also running the 5X promotion this weekend (starting Thursday) and this casino is also entirely non-smoking.

Just trying to help you out pal.

Lizste, the first floor was still in shambles on Saturday. In hindsight, I suppose that I could have called the front desk to ask if renovations were done before departing. I had a winning trip, but it felt uncomfortable playing in an unfamiliar area at inferior pay tables. I enjoyed the smoke free environment for the brief time I allowed myself to play. Maybe I'll give them a buzz on Friday to at least try to check on things. It still looked like it would take a few weeks. BTW, how did you do?

Update/Note to Self: I just called Caesars check on the status of the renovation. The operator had such a weak, thin and inarticulate voice. I had to ask her to repeat what she found out after putting me on hold. "The renovations will continue throughout May." Bad news, bad messenger. It's all too bad. I really came to like the atmosphere, minus the looming waitresses behind me.

How does one go about brushing up on their JWD gameplay? I know this site has strategy, even penalty hands listed, but I can't find any Gold training games to practice on. I guess you need to buy software?

Update/Note: The ancient JOB progressive machines are indeed back on the floor, on the other side and arranged as a carousel. No more annoying slammers and smokers getting on my last nerve. They’ll be at a safe enough distance. Machines are still out of service. No indication whether the progressive feature or 9/6 tables will be retained. Buttons still in the familiar beat up worn down shape. Don’t ever change, Caesars!

I have seen double joker poker machines at Caesars AC but believe they're most likely to be using 98.1% paytables. But with the progressive jackpot over $2,000 the payback is over 100%.
I use freeslots.com as my trainer which allows you to adjust the 5 credit royal flush payout, but I find that the trainer often goes against the Wizard of Odds video poker strategy calculator. I wish I was able to determine which is the correct strategy to use in order for this to be an advantage play. Freeslots does give you the EV for the best hands to play but I wish I understood how to calculate it in order for it to justify going against wizard of Odds.

Can you give an example of a hand for which the strategy advice differs?
