I don't understand Harrah's host-no host policies. I was a Diamond for 2 years through Metropolis and St. Louis, but was told I still did not qualify for a host. The only perk was the Diamond Lounge in St. Louis and standing in the Buffet line for the Paul Deene in Tunica. I ONLY play Harrahs, mostly St. Louis, and by not living there, I am not on their mailing list for the gifts, trips etc. I have called them regarding their policies and I have never seen so many people side-step answers so quickly. It is 220 miles 1 way for me to go to St. Louis and with their 3 free days a month, they say that takes away from any extra comping they will give me. I think that is garbage. I know that on a Tuesday or Wednesday, the hotel is not full (unless special activities in the area) so giving me a room that they claim is $90-100 per night and me spending $500 to $600 each time is not productive in my estimation. We did go on the charter from St. Louis to Laughlin last week (which was great) but it cost me $99 each way, where others were going free. I tried to speak to a host that was talking to our group and she treated me like I had the plague. I STAYED at Laughlin, in the casino for all my gambling, where others got off the plane and rented a car and piled off to Las Vegas. I don't function that way. I am just about ready to call it quits with Harrah's. They want loyalty, but it doesn't seem to work both ways. I know comping is really bad right now, but c'mon, keep the comping fair and open to everyone who plays. It takes alot of money to get a point with their system and I think taking a look at my loss account with them, should keep them wanting me to play!!

Cook, I travel a lot, and I find that the Harrah's/Caesars/Horseshoe empire of properties has no consistency. What will fly at one location is shunned at another. I have been a Seven Star for several years, and I marvel at how differently I am treated at different properties. I can only imagine how poorly the Diamond level players are handled.
The only advice that I can offer is to try and establish yourself with a host at the property that you play at most. Then, use that host to 'connect' you to the other properties when you plan on travelling.
And finally, by all means, "sound off" to Caesars if you think you are getting a bum steer. And I am talking about up the chain, since even local VPs seem to have no clue most of the time.

thank you. Billyjoe..thats what I did today. When we got back from the Laughlin trip, we stayed that night again at Harrah's. We were downstairs and they were giving away a very nice 3-piece of luggage. I was told I did not qualify. It was just for locals. Well, tough cookies! I went right to the lead slot host and told them I was unhappy about that, as that was discriminatory. I ONLY play at St. Louis, but I don't live there, no. People were bouncing in, picking up this luggage and bouncing out. I, on the other hand, played for another 6 hours. I talked today with the main marketing director and he suggested that I open a mail box in St. Louis so I could get the local offers. Don't think so. He did give me the number for a host in Stl. so if I want to come more, she can work it out. I would really love to find a host so I can get the flights to Laughlin. That was my home gambling town when we lived in So. Calif. and no airlines fly to Laughlin. Vegas, yes, but not Laughlin. I would pay for the trips for awhile if I had to, but I just want to be asked. Geez!!

Cook, in my travels to various Caesars/Harrahs locations, I get invited to a lot of events, and meet a lot of "suits" from their corporate offices. I have a business card from the Regional President of Northern Nevada for Caesars/Harrahs, which I would think would include Laughlin. Drop him a line, and let him know what you are looking for. He may be able to link you up with an appropriate contact.

His name is John Koster. Email is jkoster@harrahs.com

Good luck..

Billyjoe, you are a true gem. Thank you for the info. I am going to make at least Diamond for the 2nd time.. I have had health issues for the last 2 years, so gambling was put on the back burner, but this year I am back! Thank you again for taking the time to help me.

I too am looking forward to making travel plans, but I sure would like to see something official from Caesars before booking nonrefundable airline tickets.
Nothing personal, but so far, your comment is the only thing I've seen regarding the AC seven stars event.

I just saw the agenda for the AC 7Star Event. Basically, a Diana Ross concert, a couple of pool parties, and a boat ride along Atlantic City. It is out on the TR page if you sign in, and click the Signature Events link.

OK, my AC trip is coming up in a few weeks.  OK all you AC regulars, of the Harrahs/Caesars properties in AC, which one has the BEST paytables for VP?
