Has anyone been to AC since Hurricane Sandy hit? Atlantic City was actually ground zero when the storm made landfall. I've seen many photos of the destruction and devastation that happened there. The casinos were closed for about a week, if I remember correctly.

Has anyone been there since? I'm just wondering how it affected the boardwalk (many parts of the boardwalk in AC were destroyed) and the local businesses, like the Tanger outlets and Pier 1 next to Caesars.

there was only small damage to a remote part of  boardwalk much misinfomation was posted by the media - beach is fine as are outlets and pier.  I was there last week and could so no damage at all

media information was wrong, very little damage and non apparent now, beach, boardwalk, malls, pier all fine.  I was there last week and all looked normal

i was down 11/14-11/16 and saw no damage at all.the worst of it was around the steel pier area but i wasn't down that way.

I ventured down the week AFTER they re-opened, November 6-9.  It sucked....the casinos were in ok shape but there was NO ONE there, 70% of the restaurants and storeds were still closed.  I went more out of curiosity than the urge to gamble.  I am sure by now all is back to normal, except that I have been flooded by an absurd amount of free stuff, from places I hardly even play at!  this can mean only one thing....AC has suffered a lot more than just water and flood damage.  Patrons have disappeared.  I am going again December 5 thru 10, I'll report what I experience after....

It's open, it's fine. The damage and destruction shown on the Boardwalk was down at Gardiner's Basin, way at the end of the Boardwalk past Revel.   The areas where the casinos are, was hardly affected.   Casinos were closed for 5 days. When they reopened, they were on skeleton crews and totally empty.   But at this point, everything is pretty much back to normal.
