I've always resorted to boiling it in water, but I assumed Jimdeuce was talking about doing it on a grill when he made his post, so i focussed on that.....I just cooked 3 ears for tonites dinner using the various suggestions on this thread, cooking it on an old charcoal grill instead of the usual Gas Burner, using charcoal briquets;  the heat was not as intense so I didnt burn the corn but I used everyone's advice and it came out pretty decent.   My steak was not so great though because I was spending too much time on the corn, but it still was ok.   Cooking outdoors takes practice and concentration, kinda like Video Poker so actually this thread is semi relevant, more or less. Anyone wanna start a lawn care thread?  I have krabgrass and moles in one section of my backyard.....the moles only showed up two months ago, not long after the neighborhood free roaming cat gave birth to a litter and now she spends all her time with them.  I never realized how valuable a service the cat was performing until she stopped doing it.  My neighbor has moles too now.....

I guess everyone saw by now that q2 profits were off 45% from a year ago. It has been years since I have made a trip down there. I used to like Harrah's Marina the best, but that was in 1992. I rented a brand new Caddy white with red leather for the trip. From enterprise of all places. As long as we're on the food subject too, try dipping boneless skinless chicken breasts in a mixture of Mayonnaise and Italian dressing and cook on the gas grill with the lid down. They come out with a nice golden brown coating and taste great. You would never know Mayonaise was ever used.

I figure the moles have as much right to the yard as I do, and the crabgrass and clover are still green, so I pay the neighbor kid to run a mower over it twice a month and don't worry about it.

ok screw the lawn and dinner for now, back to the topic at hand, AC...... And before I proceed, I am not all about "bashing AC"....I want the place to be a great successful (and most importanly) FUN place to visit and gamble, which is why my criticism may seem so harsh.  I personally see the true potential of AC, and therefore, it KILLS me to see the crap I sometimes see and the problems that exist, culminating in this utmost of kiler problems, the never-ending slide of their profits and revenue.  Because, in the end, it is the customer/player who suffers, either with declining services, fun and gambling options all the way down to the place finally dying and closing up shop. The fact that, since 2007, AC has suffered a never ending litany of revenue/profit declines, with no end in sight and management/government officials seemingly powerless (and clueless) to stop the trend,  it behooves us who like to visit AC to ask incisive questions such as "Just what the hell is going on here anyway?" I only play Video Poker in the casinos I visit....I also play cards, but that I can do at other locations and venues besides typical casinos, so I focus on VP when discussing casinos;  and since I have noticed such a stark, often precarious difference in my play experiences in AC with respect Video Poker, when compared to places like Vegas and Reno, I start threads like this one.   It is just too obvious.... Some people win at some AC casinos (look at roveer at Harrahs AC, although it doesnt seem he is running an overall profit, he still does indeed have successful winning sessions.)   In 4 plus years in AC (versus 20 in places like Vegas) I have had more losing than winning in AC playing VP, whereas in Vegas I am slightly profitable;  the difference is stark and in a manner which suggests the game is not the same.   I am still investigating, but one thing is definitely clear:  A major complaint on the part of all gamblers who visit AC playing all types of games is that it is much harder to win there than in other locations with casino gambling.   No one can prove this beyond a doubt, but like all things perception is often reality. So in my opinion, one thing AC could and should do in the near term is LOOSEN its games and advertise that they have done so.....use the Revel experience (the parts that worked) as a lesson, and try and atract BACK the market share they lost.  The only way to do that is make it financially worthwhile.

DaBurglar you brought up some pointe here that others have raised before and they are valid points. One example would be where you share your opinion that AC should LOOSEN their games and advertise that they have done so. If people completely stop playing games with bad payback the casinos will eventually get the message. It would then be up to casino management (I'm sorry, I can't tie government officials in with them like you do) to get the payback %'s up to a level that would draw players but as long as people are still playing the games then they will not be changed.

You cannot compare the AC gambling market to the Las Vegas market, those two markets are so far from being comparing that it just cannot be done. Do major airlines fly into AC the way they do in Las Vegas? Does AC get the amount of traffic from the European and Asian markets that Las Vegas does? AC obviously doesn't have the same year round climate that Las Vegas does and Las Vegas does a better job of keeping their crime under wraps while AC doesn't.

Illinois has some casinos that have video poker with some lousy payback, Iowa has casinos that have video poker with some lousy payback, Michigan has some casinos that have video poker with some lousy payback. One of the reasons that people still play those games is because they are the only games in town; there aren't the choices for places to gamble that Las Vegas has and to some people any video poker is better than no video poker.

It has never been my intention to slam you or your posts but some of the things you have written were not written logically, rather they appear to be written spitefully and with venum.

Otabill, That's how we do it also put in dip or drench in water with husk on it and wrap in tinfoil and the water acts like boiling water like on the stove but it is cooked on grill top shelf cook with grill cover down. This post is making me hungry! LOL! Sam

We don't use tin foil. We just soak the husk and grill it. Comes out great.
