DB you could always start focusing most of your play at CET. If you work their total rewards program and do the free junkets you can literally gamble all over the country for free. And get your rooms, food, and entertainment for free as well.

As you know, Jan. 1st the tier scores start over. That would be a great time to begin this strategy if you were interested. It is really not that hard to reach diamond and/or 7 stars. You lose some of your freedom by giving most of your play to one place but the way CET's reward program is currently structured you can definitely use it to your advantage. This is sound advice and I already have begun thinking in this direction, although as far as AC is concerned, I may be swinging the bulk of my play that has gone to Trump over to the Golden Nugget and/or Borgata.   I already played enough this year at CET to earn Diamond (Almost, I am currently at 13K in tier points so by years end I will be a diamond), which earns me the few things that mean the most, namelt free rooms, some food, a little slot play and access to the dwindling perks and conveninces (like their shuttle van, which has a great ramp/lift).The Tropicana is also something I may give BACk my play....when I first went to AC in 2009, the TROP was by FAR my primary property of choice and received the Bulk of my play.   I got sick of their lousy paytables and of losing there.....but of all the AC properties, the Tropicana is by far the most diverse and extensive in terms of NON-casino stuff, and Definitely the most Restaurants and food outlets (too many to mention!)But here is the thing:  Since early this year, my main focus in venturing to AC has been to work on my Poker Game, playing No limit Holdem cash and Tournaments.   To this end, Borgata has by far the best Poker room, but several other casinos offer good alternatives as well.....Harrahs, Ballys and Golden Nugget......So I need to take that into consideration as well, so that my video poker play "supports" where and when I choose to play real live Poker by earning comps and benefits where I play Poker.
If you can get to at least 25,000 tier credits you get into the diamond lounges for free. The one at Harrah's is kind of a dive but the ones at Bally's and Caesar's offer a panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean and the buffets they have there are not half bad and they are free. I am sure as much as you go to Atlantic City you have probably been in them before. If not when you meet Billyjoe there next month he can get you in.

I am sure as much as you go to Atlantic City you have probably been in them before. If not when you meet Billyjoe there next month he can get you in. I am familiar with the Diamond Club Buffets, and yes, Caesars is by far the best (all though not exactly "the biggest", I think Ballys is Bigger and definitely more roomy and with a Much bigger Bar and more TVs which is important during football season!)......Yes, the Taj version of the diamond club ("Chairman club") is an embarrassment, much like everything else about Trump these days......in fact they closed the Chairman Club the last two days I was there last week and gave no reason!   I would not be surprised if they cut it out altogether, as yet another desperation cost cutting move.if Billyjoe wants to eat at the Caesar's Diamond Lounge, we can do that, but if he is in the mood for a good steak, I might have to insist on either Gallaghers at Resorts, or Roberts in the TAJ.......in the case of Roberts, it would allow me to use up my Comp dollars on something "semi-worthwhile" before (and in case) the place goes belly-up!    But with respect to Gallaghers, I must impress upon Billyjoe that it is simply the "BEST" food and steaks in my opinion......best tasting, best prepared, best period!    Afterall, Gallaghers is the "inventor" of the venerable "NEW YORK STRIP Steak" cut!Seriously, I love Gallaghers, the decor makes you feel like you are in New York city in the 1930s......outside Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig are hitting homeruns, the stock market is crashing, King Kong is climbing the empire state building and Lucky Luciano is consolidating his grip on "This Thing of Ours."

Well, MGM is back in NJ. Now they can get the money that's been in trust. Will they re open their headquarters on Delilah rd ? Maybe even buy a closed place ? Time will tell.

Didn't the stock market crash in 1929? Charles Luciano strengthened his grip on New York organized crime because of advice given him by Johnny Torrio. I have enjoyed Delmonico's and Peter Luger's.

Hold on ! ! ! Don't count out the Donald.  http://www.phillymag.com/news/2014/09/1 ... sinos/this article raises an issue that I myself had never realized was an issue:  It states that "many" people thought Trump went bankrupt in AC.....I know this is false, and if anyone recalls, I made a post a while back where I stated that Trump, back in the late 1980s through early 1990s used his casinos to keep aloft his real estate empire in and around NYC, which tanked during the recession of 1990 and caused his Bankruptcy filing around that time......his Casinos were RAKING it in, and helped prop up his other holdings which were NOT doing so well.  People, therefore, obviously confuse Trump's Bankruptcy filing from the early 90s as related to his casinos.Anyhow, I HOPE there is some truth to this.....I have said (and said and said), that it IS possible for casinos to succeed in AC, and if Trump has learned anything from past experience plus what he knows NOW to be true, then MAYBE, just MAYBE, he can really make another run.    There is a way to make money in AC if a casino wants to do what is needed, AND they set realistic goals for profit and revenue!     It will NEVER be like it was 20 years ago when AC was a monopoly, but the AC casinos CAN wrest a lot of the lost market share BACK from all the Pennsylvania and Delaware joints that capitalized on AC's sloth back in 2006-2007.
