Actually after re-reading your post I realized that not only do you enjoy losing money playing video poker but you are a challenged video poker player. Your words, not mine. Why don't you reveal to the forum what your true purpose and intention is in this insipid, petty line of inquisitiveness regarding my vacation to AC.   What "Conclusion" regarding me and my experiences in AC do you want everyone to see or draw......???Your above quoted post is bunk:  NO WHERE do I state that the LOSING of money is in and of itself FUN........and I see no post by myself where I state  I am "Challenged" as a player.......and ofc ourse, here too we could also simply ask the age old question again:   WHAT IS  YOUR POINT>!>!>!???? Then, peace is the logical course of action. And as we all know, Captain Kirk always got the girl in the end, in addition to listening to his logical First Officer.

BTW - there is no "o" in Tiberius.
DaBurglar if you consider losing money when playing video poker fun, my hat's off to you.
most everyone on this forum plays VP, loses money and calls it fun.
Ditto. Ted: If you have seen any of my posts regarding spending money vs losing money you know I have a different perspective then Bob Dancer and apparently you as well. I assume you go to the movies, ball games etc. without any expectation of coming out with more money in your pocket than the cost of the ticket. You would have fun/be entertained and consider it money well spent. In the same way, if my wife and I go to Vegas and budget $500 for a night of VP or any other type of gambling and the next night $500 to see Elton John or any other high priced act, I fail to see how we can't have fun or be entertained either way. The irony, when spending the $500 to see Elton, etc. the money is gone, while we could wind up spending less than the budgeted $500, even coming out ahead, for our night gambling. As I've said its a matter of perspective. To each his own.

I don't enjoy losing money and when we go into a casino it is with the hope that we walk out with more than we walked in with. On those occasions when I do lose; the losses are within set loss limits and I do not cross those limits that I set for myself.    I do consider casino gambling a form of entertainment but it is a different form of entertainment than going to a concert. I'm not knocking those who've seen The Rolling Stones in concert 25 times but that's just not my thing. As you pointed out with your example of seeing Elton John, once the concert's over, it's over and the only thing that remains now is a memory.   I don't consider losing money fun and in DaBurglar's case if he were winning money playing live poker and losing money playing video poker; I'd be playing live poker.    I am a disciplined player and when I win, the first thing I think about is "what can I do with this money?" To me it's found money so I try to put it to the best use I can. I've bought things like t.v.'s but I've really had to justify a purchase like that and I'd rather do some good with it. I have occasionally left a local casino relatively quickly after hitting AWAK. One time a couple years ago a friend came into town and we went to a local casino, I hit a hand pay jackpot and almost right after getting paid I walked out to my car and took a nap while my buddy was still inside playing. I wanted to hang onto the winnings so I backed off my play the rest of that night.    My bottom line is that I do consider casino gambling as a form of entertainment but I won't let the cost of this entertainment spiral out of control.

Vman may know where we can get that without beaming up. I think the Star Wars folks should find a really good micro brewery and market it as Romulan Ale. I would definitely buy some if they did.

i am a big advocate for one being disciplined about all things money. and, i have known some very disciplined folks, but i/m/o, you are the king of discipline. win money, go to sleep in the car and leave your buddy in the casino. anytime i win something sizeable, it immediately gets invested, along with the money i brought with me.

I bus in. I was unwise to gamble away $80 I brought with me the day of my Royal. A car does give you a convenient hang out option!

Uh-oh olds, be careful; there's a huge rift between fans of Star Trek and fans of Star Wars.
