Grammie, respect for a President is not given, it is earned. It cannot be bought. It cannot be stolen. It must be earned.
Every other President understood the dignity that comes with the office. You didn't have to respect the man in the office but you respected the office itself. trump has so trampled on the office, I'd advise Biden to live in the Naval Observatory and fumigate the office for the next several years. The position of POTUS needs some heavy rehab.
It's far from over. I fully expect trump will try and claim victory tomorrow night, with many of his devoted fans claiming his victory was stolen from him. How the networks handle his " victory speech" will be quite compelling.
