im certain the way things are going the 100 years from now the 1,000 pay out will be viewed as a nickle or dime machine pff tax that and generate a form for that proportioned money!
i guess what im trying to explain is the 80s early 90s was the golden age for a 1,000$ pay out
1) 1,000$ went alot further
2) no tax form generated
3) trying to balance it out now with a .50 machine would result in a tax form generator
so yea again im sticking to my guns it would be almost like winning a .50 royal in china casino (or a crooked casino w/o a tax form generated) to clear 1,000 now full pay would be clearing 2,000 in todays standards
or what would be easier hitting 1 royal in the 80s (which 1k back then is worth 2 k now)
or hit 2 royals for same denomination .25 (ofcourse you say just play .50 but again the tax form generates chews away at the winnings) so yea gimme that tax free .25 anyday over .5 but alas the .25 lost its value and shine
and finally not to mention a FPDW machine produces around 7 to 10 bucks an hour which today standards is below min wage in some states but 8$ an hour tax free back in its hay day of the 90s?
you're honuor i rest my case
the value of the royal flush?

Aren't you supposed to report, and pay tax on, all winnings, not just the ones that generate a tax form?

I believe it is net winnings, not all winnings.
If I put in $20 and have a few winnning hands but ultimately lose the $20, would you say I owe taxes on the fullhouse I received?
Few video poker players at Steve or my level have net winnings at the end of the year.
If you cycle $2,000,000 thru the machines and lose $40,000 by years end, you've "won" on hundreds of hands, if not thousands.

well the debate was the royal flush (1,000$) was more powerful in its hay day.
and making 10 bucks an hour now (playing FPDW) compared in the 80s/90s beats the snot out of it now where its now below min wage in some states.
not so much about tax or penalties but yea your right but still give me that 10 bucks an hour back then and a cool royal flush back then too because now its not w/o its charm (still pretty to look at it)

If your argument was video poker was better in the 1990s/early 2000s, no one will disagree, but I'm not sure what your point is. All we can do is find the best game/club return we can nd decide if it is worth playing.
If you want to turn the casino into a part time income, look elsewhere.

and yes my debate was about min wage back in the 80s vs min wage today.
has a great impact what a 4,000 coin pay out on a non taxable highest standard .25 machine to 1,000$
since its tied to the FPDW relation to the 4k royal no denying it was alot better playing video poker in its hay day. another 100 years from now if they don't cap the pay out to be 4k or 5k$ cash w/o generating a tax form then it will be worthless IMO your gonna play 60-80 hours a week just to win what was equal back then to be 200$ today? it doesn't make sense to win 200$ get a tax form and then spend 60 hours all for that? well see what future holds...

Which Vegas casino give comp cash for FPDW? Or even mailings? I'm not aware of them. FPDW is pretty rare in Nevada.

well i meant i won chunk of cash in AC playing aces and faces and jacks.
and as for my debate as minium wage increase so does the royal flush or the (return on FPDW standard) decreases
value wise 8-10 today again is crap but in 80s and 90s thats alot of cash and since it is part of the royal flush which means the RF is decreasing as well and again if one wants to win more well bump up to .5 but the tax form generated chews into the bigger win
