Mountains in Arizona? Gee, so that's what I was looking at during my first visit to Tucson back in 1973 and those eighteen or so visits subsequent to that first trip.

If you had enough "precipitation" that you were concerned if your roof would hold up, it isn't merely dew on the roof, it's rain.

Your lengthy explanation reminds me of several people I know who always try to over-explain themselves out of a corner that they've painted themselves into. Doesn't work too well for them either.
My new house is at least thirty miles from my storage units. Over the weekend it rained there . Today it is rained/snowed in Bisbee. Route 80 was shut down, as was !-10, which is a good 50 miles away.
I do appreciate your childlike innocence. Most people outgrow it but you still ask the darndest questions.
Lt. Columbo asks the same darn questions too. Um, just one more thing sir: "I subscribed to Arizona Highways for many years and I still get their excellent yearly calendars."

Here's one more question: do you play the games offered here on this site or do you just come here to post in the forums?

My internet is so slow I gave up playing the games here. Being about 90 miles from the closest casino, I'm very out of practice.

Sounds like BR you are a good drive from everything you need to do or check on. Just curious as I am a long time car buff. What is your everyday car/truck? I am so used to being 5 minutes from everything. My longest trip these days is the casino. Just under an hour unless I 95 is snarled.
I know you like to stumble into deals BR which reminds me of one my co worker took advantage of in the late 1970s. Hertz was running an unlimited mileage deal for a week or two on their luxury cars. He took the deal at a very nominal rate. A brand new Lincoln Town Car. He brought it back to Hertz after driving both the Southern and Northern cross country routes 7,500 miles later. He had quite a gasoline bill though, but thourghly enjoyed the trip.

My workhorse is a 2016 Mazda CX-5, and my "Sunday" car is a 2008 BMW 325i. I had a very generous neighbor who would either lend me his pickup or drive it for me on occasion, and there is a guy in Bisbee that does small moves with his cube truck for $50 for three hours.
I was staying about 17 miles NE from the only supermarket for many miles and am now going to be 15 miles SW of it, give or take a mile. It's about forty miles to Walmart, and ninety miles to Tucson.

When I was moving here from Vegas, I needed to make several trips. On the first trip I rented a Uhaul for about $300 that gave me 500 free miles for the one-way trip. Then someone suggested I use Penske. They offered unlimited mileage so we made three roundtrips in five days. When I returned it the attendant thought there must be a paperwork problem as we put almost 2,000 miles on it.

Nice. The Mazda should go a zillion miles for you with minimal maintenance. The BMWs are nice weekend cars. My brother just sold his 2006 325i and got new C series Benz. The bummer is he and wife got rear ended by a Hearse of all things when it was 3 weeks old. Luckily minor whiplash only. They wouldn’t total the car even with 26,000 damage. The shop had the car 8 weeks and the spoiler is still on back order. I guess the Hearse driver fell asleep and was at the tail end of delivering an officer to his final resting place in Arlington. Everyone was very lucky overall. The driver was a nice guy.
I have already posted about my Elantra workhorse. Very satisfied. Our weekend cars are my wife’s 92 Celica she bought new. Just turned 70k. My his/her is a 91 Celica I bought from my coworker in 2002. She bought it new also. Still miss my 65 442 and other 60s muscle cars and before that British sports cars for racing. Of course back then they were used up when I got them and I had to do them over. If I could buy my first new vehicle again, I would tomorrow. 73 F100 v8 stick with traction lock. The New England winters ate that one up. It was only 2,750 new after negotiating. I guess you have to plan shopping trips pretty much. When I forget or run out, the grocery store is almost around the corner. At least I have the beach at the bottom of my street and a nice farm at the other end. The Amish barn he had built is the finest construction I have ever seen. The Amish crew came up here to build it with much hand work.
I almost forgot. The gal I bought my Celica from traded in a Mazda GLC she drove it 10 years and got the Celica. She never spent a dime on the Mazda except for routine maintenance.

After years of driving cheaper cars due to parking them on the street in Queens, I got my first Mazda, a 2013 Mazda 6, and loved it. I traded it in for the Cx-5 because I needed more cargo room, but liked the 6 much better. The 6 was a sports car, the 5 doesn't have the perk or the cornering. The BMW is a fun car, but it is very low to the ground and a pain in the ass to get in and out. Someone suggested I get a kit to raise it up a couple of inches but the cost was nuts. I'm leaning towards buying a Tesla pickup when they come out but I think the closest dealer is four hours away.

Just drove though Old Bisbee, which sits about a 1,000 feet higher than the rest of the town, and they got five inches of snow, that with drifts are halfway up some car doors and over the bumpers in spots. The famed staircases are ice ladders. I'm going to turtle down and get stuff ready to move rather than doing any moving today. For $19.95, the uhaul truck can be a lawn ornament.
Several long time residents are saving this is a once in a generation event. In m park, we barely got a dusting and it's long gone. Facebook is calling for a town-wide snowman building contest.

I have a lawn ornament too. It is an antique lantern boy. Got it when I got the house in 1974. Always kept it in the back yard near the garden. I guess nowdays, I would be called a racist for having it. A big bush has now grown over it. Guess I better just leave it that way.

I believe Billy moved to Texas, That is where his new house is located.
No, I'm still in SE Arizona. The financing for the shop in Fredricksburg didn't come through.
Sorry to hear about the the financing issue. Assume you will be here in AZ for awhile longer. One of these days I need to take a road trip to Bisbee. It was on my late wife and my bucket list.

I believe it was Phil Sheridan who said if he owned Hell and Texas, he'd rent out Texas and live in hell.
I'd never even been to Fredericksburg before so it is probably for the best. I've got three crazy weeks in front of me but then I plan on taking two or three weeks off to recharge the battery. Covid permitting, I'm hoping to go on a weekend retreat towards the end of Febuary.
