It was obvious that republican senators wanted nothing to do with this trial, and wanted it over as soon as possible, but trumps attorneys incredibly opened the door for witnesses to be called.
I'm not sure this will rise to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, but lets see what witnesses have to say.
Any competent attorney could have wrapped this up yesterday, but trumps insistence on his Big Lie about voter fraud chased any decent lawyers away.
Lets see if the chickens finally come home to roost.

It appears that CNNs reporting of a phone call between Kevin McCarthy and the prez are what set this off.
trumps lawyers went on the record saying trump was not aware of what was going on at the time, but both McCarthy and Republican senator Tommy Tuberville have said they personally talked to him during the attack.

b/t/w, has CNN bothered to mention anything about the award winning NY GOV CUOMO possibly facing recall or criminal charges?

b/t/w, does the public really care about ANOTHER impeachment? if you believe CNN, an article published by trump hater brian stelter, yesterday, said the following;
-if you are glued into the proceedings or even just half watching....you are part of a special club
-the nielsen ratings....show only a sliver of the public is watching at any one time. THAT is from a trump hater.
nobody is watching, very few (only trump haters) really care, most know how it will end, everyone (should) know this is partisan politics.
dem politics....wash, rinse, repeat. seen it all before.

like most things that the author of this thread brings up, not worth reading.
you know, webman was right, some folks are perfectly capable of looking like idiots, all on their own.
