Olds,
Thanks for the prayers, there are a lot of people suffering down here. Our prayers for your father for a recovery. Sweet C and I are so thankful our two mom's passed away in their mid-90's in nursing homes a couple of years ago and didn't have to suffer through Covid. We miss them both immensely but would live in fear for both of them. Two of my fellow retired principals passed away from Covid last year.

Your post reminded me of the use of monocolonal antibodies for people over 65 or with health issues immediately upon diagnosis of Covid and prior to the hospitalization. As soon as someone with those risk factors is confirmed they need to consider a monoclonal antibody infusion. It reduces by a huge % the chance of Covid becoming a hospital/ventilator event. My brother is a heart/lung transplant coordinator for the Texas Medical Center's leading transplant hospital. It is a standard treatment for all at risk patients awaiting transplants and those who have had a transplant. It is readily available but not being used as much as it should due to the lack of promotion/education. It is the same infusion used by the president when he caught Covid.

Just read an article that because of Texas' deregulation of energy when it set up ERCOT to keep Federal Regulations out of Texas, some of the electric companies are allowed to charge the "going electric rate" to its customers. Several articles about people getting their first light bills since the freeze. Three bedroom house in Dallas area got charged full peak price (during the worst part electricity went up to $9,000 mKw) and the family's bill was over $10K. According to another article, while Texas prohibits gouging during a hurricane they're not sure the ice storm will be covered. Three cheers for deregulation in our business friendly Texas. I wonder if you could deduct at that same rate for the hours you didn't have power and for the plumbing repairs due to the lack of service. ....seems it would be fair....

I got some at the local auto shop as well as some clamps. Unfortunately, the pipe was splitting at the cap. The plumbing contractor welded a galvanized cap to the copper pipe. The Lowe's was out of everything plumbing related. But, if I'd had a $1 for everyone who went down the plumbing aisles Wednesday and Thursday, I'd be able to take an awesome trip to Vegas with Sweet C. Son in law is coming in tomorrow to cut and solder a cap on the pipe. His neighbor works at plumbing supply company and was able to get what I needed.
PS: I thought I'd get it fixed this afternoon when a plumber showed up a neighbors house. I walked down and talked them. I explained what I needed done. The plumber said no problem except he had not copper caps and hadn't been able to get one for two days. Best paid job in Texas the next few months and probably worth every penny too.

Take care.

Thank you LL. What a coincidence. My best friend’s brother is an Infusionest and keeps people’s hearts going while the operations are going on. They just told me about the treatment you sent yesterday. I am sure your son will get you squared away in short order. If he has silver solder, it is much stronger, but you should be fine either way. My prayers for everyone are continuing. Stay safe and well. Olds. And thanks for your prayers as well. Maybe when the world returns to a semblance of normalcy, we will cross paths at the casino or a game. Sometimes, these forums remind me of the old days when we had pen pals. Long before people used the word Tech for anything except Auto Shop school.

Did you have pen pals? I signed up for one around 1971 via Archie Comics and got a letter from someone claiming to be a 12-year-old girl but everyone who read it said it sounded like it was written by an adult.
She also asked me to include a few stamps and a quarter so she could buy a writing pad. I never answered her and that was it for pen pals. I played a game of chess by mail in high school but that didn't thrill me.

Cancun Cruz fam still lived it up for a week after he flew home in what passes for shame for Ted. Wife Heidi easy to spot in a red bikini. Better red than Ted? Of course they hibernated at the Ritz-Carlton, the only Forbes five star resort in town. Sparing no expense at minimum $300 a night. That’s a lot of comps for you guys, but chump change for Ted! She may want to hit the hotel gym, btw.

So just what did Mrs. Cruz do to you to earn this shot Mr. Fitness?

The day you should be giving out fitness advice is the day after you should be giving out video poker advice.

Had one pen pal. A gal my age Who lived in Illinois. We had intentions of meeting someday but then high school came along and it never worked out. She was a good friend writing back-and-forth for several years between ages 10 and 14.
Hey double L if you are still there if there are any small plumbing parts that you guys need I might be able to pick them up around here and mail them out or I guess you can find them online maybe through Granger anyway let me know

Just guessing it was like this not that it matters. 57 cents on line.

I've got no problem with Cruz sending his family out of harm's way.
He, himself, should have stayed. The storyline could have been so different. In times of crisis, people look to their leaders. So far they have been poorly lead.

What really irks me is that they say they"re sorry - but what they mean is not that they're sorry they did it, but that they were caught.
