Today in Sonoma….. Ahhhhh! Finally, that bonehead dog Ginger and that sneaky cat Blackie that wants to kill me are locked in the house. Maybe now I can get some decent sleep without those sharp twigs in my nest poking

I put together this old clock for my parents 47 years ago. It still hangs on the wall at their house and keeps perfect time. The case is oak and originally it was called a slave clock. It hung in a school classroom about 1900

and had an early electric clock movement that ran off the master in the principals office. That is why it was called a slave clock. I think I got it a flea market and the old electric mechanism had been discarded. For the insides, I had found an old discarded Ansonia Clock Co brass spring and pendulum movement from 1882. It was broken, but I restored it. I had to mount it in the case and drill 2 holes in the dial. One to wind it and one tiny hole where you insert the back of the key to adjust for fast or slow. You have to wind it once a week. My mom loved this clock and always looked at it instead of the other more modern clocks in the house to see what time it was.

My house today. Scottish broom, spirea, white azalea, and red azalea. The rhododendrons are just starting to pop. One of the ones we have is bigger than a large SUV. Will post pictures as soon as it blooms.

The rhododendrons are just starting to pop. Send more pictures once they are full. These are the first couple of blossoms.
