I made it within forty miles of Uncasville recently on a Hartford trip. Down in New Haven, I noticed two convenient campus shuttles. Same colors, but such polar opposite destinations.

Kind of like betting max coin vs. short coin: two different destinations!

Yes and you were actually 7 miles from me if you were in New Haven. The casino is 58 miles my door to my usual parking spot. Too bad you didn’t have time to walk the shore in Milford or New Haven. I’m sending a photo of Charles Island where Captain Kidd may have hidden his treasure. He pretty much owned the streets of Milford. It was founded in the early 1630s I think.

And yes, you can walk out there at low tide. Off limits now by the Feds to treasure seekers.

The walk out to Silver Sands State Park. Charles Island in the distance. Read up sometime on the three curses of Charles Island. Yes you were definitely in Olds Country.

The upkeep for all that almost justifies the state taxes. I was even closer than I thought, a mere two or three zip codes away. The NHPD HQ is pretty ritzy as well. The guest meals must be catered.

You were actually just a long walk from some very dangerous areas surrounding the New Haven Hospitals. Comparable to Baltimore, Chicago, or NYC. Hard to believe the difference just seven miles away. Hope you got to see the architecture and beautiful stone buildings Yale. Had I known you were coming, I would have sent you to some of the best Italian restaurants, apizza places, pubs, or even coffee shops. Maybe next time. I don’t regret turning down Yale for UCONN by any means, but if I did go to Yale, I would no doubt have met these two characters. Photo coming

I was only passing through with an hour to cool my heels. It felt like a sterile and sleepy environment. But many cities do in fact contain danger a long walk away from such hubs. So that actually sounds right.

Some time come again and you aren’t far from Yale, the art gallery, theatre, and too many other cool things to mention.
