Sorry to hear. Your marathons are usually so interesting. Those comp rooms sound fantastic. I got it in January. One day of minor symptoms. My booster was February 28. It may or may not have helped me. But I'd become too complacent and blew off the booster. It was a bad gamble.
You are correct that blowing off the booster is a bad gamble. I am afraid that Covid is going to keep coming in waves until eventually it becomes endemic. Getting the shots won't prevent infection but they will almost guarantee you will not have a severe case.

Agree about the value of the vaccinations for most people. I tested positive for Omicron in January. Had a relatively mild case with symptoms for a couple of days. Haven't gotten a second booster yet because I have antibodies in my system. Not sure of all casinos here in AZ but as of last month, concerning the ones I know about, all still ban smoking, and some still require masks. Masks are available if you need/want one.

Bill when I stopped at Ak-chin they had one small smoking area in the casino but 95% was no smoking. They used some fans and air purifiers to help get rid of the smoke.

Case, I haven't been to Ak-Chin in years. Last time was when my late wife was not treated right when there was a machine error. At that time there was a small non-smoking section. How times have changed.

Philadelphia just re-instituted a mask mandate. I just got home from an overnight at Mohegan I would say no more than 5% of the people including employees at Mohegan were wearing masks. I had mine on even though I am so tired of it

The entire second floor of Caesars AC is smoke free. A very unusual experience walking through it. It's so civilized compared to the bedlam on the main floor. That's where I have my coffee upon arrival. Unfortunately, all the bad pay tables are up there too. Eventually, I must descend to join the crumb bums and loudmouths downstairs.

Funny how so many smokers are also the drunk crowd, the rude crowd, the screamers at the machines, the lack of hygiene crowd, and on and on. Unfortunately they are also the ones who plunk the most money into the machines for the most part and that is why the crappy pay tables are usually in non-smoking areas. Guess I am pretty lucky in that Mohegan sun is still totally smoke-free. My brother went out for the UConn game out west and unfortunately along with our governor of Connecticut came back with Covid. Now his daughter and granddaughter have it as well everyone is fully shot and boostered. Makes no difference to this latest mutant variant and there are several more mutants on the way they are also in central New York state already.

I just signed up for the latest booster. I got it again in August, symptoms were just like a cold and I was back to normal after 10 days.

As for good measure, I was diagnosed with a complete tear of the supraspinatus at the critical zone with retraction to the level of the mid-humeral head. In layman's terms, I was diagnosed with a complete tear of a rotator cuff major tendon. This is not Covid related, lol...

Glad you recovered from Covid. Just wondering if Tommy John surgery is on the horizon. :)

Ditto Ted. Good luck with the repair job soon. Yes, Covid is really heating up Nationwide. New Jersey healthcare facilities ( at least some ) have gone back to mask mandates. Our hospitals here in Ct are getting very busy. In fact, I also heard on the news today that Covid is still the fifth leading cause of earth in the
US. As long as we are on the heath care front, I have upcoming Cataract surgery this October in both eyes 2 weeks apart. I put it off as long as possible, but now the white headlights totally blind me at night so I have no choice. Stay safe and well all.

Sorry about the COVID, and glad you're over it. Is the tendon tear from hitting the buttons too hard?

Actually the rotator cuff tear was from a fall I took. I never realized that such an injury could occur from a fall but I found out, the hard way.

I'm trying to avoid surgery and am treating conservatively with physical therapy. The Ortho Surgeon said that because it was a complete tear and has retracted as much as it has, surgery has a big failure rate after 2 years. No workouts for me and when I can get back started I am relegated to machines only and no free weights. I just need to accept that and this, I am having a hard time doing.

This was my 3rd time with Covid and thanks for the well wishes. For those who still think that Covid is another conspiracy, think again.

EVERYONE PLEASE STAY SAFE.
