I remember it clearly. Aug 16, 1977. Altus Air Force Base. Hot as an oven, no breeze, no shade, just baked Oklahoma. Went home after duty, took a cold shower and sat on the porch in shorts. Ate dinner, played with the dog, listened to Hotel California, Steve Miller "Jet Airliner", Fleetwood Mac "Dreams". Went to bed so I could make it to duty next day. A day that went down in history.

  The second day that the music died. Later that same year Chicago's Mayor Daley died while at his doctor's office. Earlier today one of the Republican Presidential Candidates actually said today was Elvis's birthday. I bet she gained alot of votes in Memphis, duh...
