I say it has been a great day on many levels. Primarily because nothing bad has happened that we have heard about. The memorial services were so beautifully, movingly and tastefully conducted. It is way beyond sad that so few could so adversely affect the lives of so many people, on this anniversary date. It is important for us to remember those events. I believe many of us were apprehensive and hoping for the best today. I am aware that some people withdrew money from their bank and others chose not to fly today. I chose to stay away from casinos and border crossings, for several reasons.

As usual I agree with you Marie and you put it so eloquently.  It was a great day because we remembered those lost and learned to become a united and stronger nation.  We are indeed the best nation on Earth.

Unbelieveable to say  yesterday was a great day is huge slap in the face to the men and women who lost their lives ten years ago not to mention there families. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

It was a great day because we remembered those lost and learned to become a united and stronger nation.  We are indeed the best nation on Earth.  Thank you, Luigi1, that is beautifully stated and I am confident the multitudes appreciate your sentiments!

ASHAMED??? REALLY??.............Let me 1st say...Sunday was GREAT DAY!  The man upstairs saw fit that I got another day for my feet to hit the ground running!
,
It was great day!!!  The Bears kicked XXX !  I failed miserably at 100 play, and I called my best friends daughter who born on 9/11/2001 at 9:04 AM.  She's so excited that she's in "double digits".....

Should I tell her sorry....not a good day sweetie?  Did I take a moment to genuflect and pray for the victims of 9/11 and our soldiers, and those awaiting me "upstairs" and my friends and family here? Did I  root my head for the Bears, kiss my husband on the cheek and do laundry? .YES!!! I DID ALL THOSE THINGS SUNDAY!   1/27, 4/29, 6/17, 8/28, 10/22,...those are dates (to name a few) of times I may take a moment to remember...but I don't stop everyone I meet to stop and tell them...how can you smile, today's the anniversary of...........I watched those beautiful memorials, speeches and that commerical with the kids singing to the firemen and cried my out eye out!  If anyone listened to the speeches from the families directly touched by the 9/11 tradgedy you'd see that they were CELEBRATING and REMEMBERING their lives.

Was I ashamed how I spent my Sunday?  ABSOLUTELY NOT.  How someone chooses to remember whatever the anniversay date, 9/11 or the ones I mentioned above is my business.  NO I'M NOT ASHAMED!

IT WAS A GREAT DAY!  Did I mentioned the BEARS won?

Brilliantly presented, OKathyO! Thank you!  Furthermore, Leno will have to look for material elsewhere since the LIONS won, as well! Greektown is waiting. HAGD every1.

I guess we come from different places Kathy sunday was not a great day. yes I truly do think that if you think sunday was a great day you should be ashamed of yourself. try thinking of others and do not be so selfish. I really do not think the creator gives a rats behind whether the bears won or not.
