Hello...I am new here...this is my story

Hello everyone,

I just realized that I have been posting here and there but have not officially introduced myself. I am a dude, i am 7'9, I played miniature golf professionally until the age of 4, and I love pineapple orange juice with a twist of baby tears.

Ok, so maybe none of that is true but here is the important info. I have been a fan of gambling and all things casino related since 2006 when I played my first game of craps and was handed $500 from a random guy for rolling good. From craps it was blackjack and from blackjack I discovered video poker.

My wife and I are fairly young and we are fortunate to travel a lot due to different reasons. This traveling has allowed us to visit many casinos across the US and learn quite a bit about the games, comps, hookers, and airlines. Our friends are always asking for our advice whenever they plan a trip to vegas and we are happy to share. I recently even started a website blog to direct them to so I don't have to constantly answer random Vegas texts while at work and trying to surf facebook.

Anyway, it was a pleasure to find this forum as I have found much useful posts already. I found it because last time I was in Lake Charles I saw a video poker machine that said "VideoPoker.com" on the front of it and here I am.

Nice to meet you all!

Geek,
Welcome to the forum from a fellow Texan. Since you travel a lot make sure you check out the link below if you don't have it saved already. Its a great way to discover the best VP around the US/Canada. We use it every time we head out on the road and found it to be usually very accurate.   Best of luck.

Thanks Larry! Vpfree2.com is awesome and I have been using it religiously lately.

I don't recall how I found it (perhaps after reading the Frugal Video Poker book) but I don't know how people played video poker before the internet...I can only assume there were paper publications with this same type of info.

Welcome to forum, CasinoGeek and thanks for sharing your story. There is a huge variety of personalities on this site with the common denominator of being VP addicts. When I became interested in VP, my husband, much to his later regret, told me about wizardofodds.com. He has known where to find me ever since. Someone playing VP next to me at Greektown casino told me about this site. Of course, I cannot remember what they looked like and we did not exchange names. However, I have been eternally grateful to her ever since. I have tried to pass on info of this site to others. Some claim they have no computer and it's impossible to tell if the others were interested and checked out this site.  I have also served as a computer Vegas guide to countless others including friends whose daughter's wedding was at the Bellagio. They loved the entire experience and have nothing but praise for their Bellagio stay. They tell a funny story about rearranging everything in the room fridge several times  to accommodate left overs from the wedding. They were shocked to discover a big addition on their bill although they had used nothing from the fridge that was not their own. Most of you probably know by now that the casino room fridge may be weight sensitive so if an item is moved, it has a good chance of appearing on the room bill! Eventually, the matter was resolved. Just another reminder to scan those hotel bills in addition to credit card bills, and other retail and restaurant  receipts for errors. It's a possibility that you might wish to have more of your $ for your casino bankroll instead of paying for unused/unordered items!

Thanks Marie. I find myself on the wizardofodds site about once a day lately....tons of great information there. And I think those fridge sensors trick everyone at least once, haha. I can only imagine the confusion they must have had when seeing their bill.

My problem with the room "goodie sensors' is just being clumsy. I was once charged for 3 martini shakers, since during the night, I ran into the cabinet, and everything went flying. Thank goodness Caesars knows that I am a clutz, and will always remove those mistakes from the bill.

"Ran"into the cabinet?  Big room or did you get a head start in the Hallway?
