Does anyone have a recommendation for a Carribean 4-5 day cruise for a single vacationer? Not a "singles" cruise, but a reputable mid-priced cruise that a person travelling alone could be sure of.Thanks.

Not sure what kind of Tier status you have with Caesars/Harrah's, but they are part of NCL, the 'free-style' cruise line. I am a Seven Star, so I get one free a year. Also, many of their casinos have offers during the year that include a free cruise.
We took three last year: Alaska, Eastern Carib and Western Carib. The Carib ones leave from New Orleans, Tampa or Miami, usually. All were fun, but I personally liked the stops on the Eastern better than the Western . They have activities for singles every day.
To bad that they are not transferable, or I would give you the ones that we didn't use.

With all the problems cruise ships are having these days, it may be better to vacation on land. I can't really go on them but as far as a roll of the dice goes, it seems they might be as risky as going to Mexico.

I'm with billyjoe, the NCL cruises that Harrah's offers are great--I'm only diamond, but have still gotten 1/year. It seems though that they may not be offering one this year to me because I got something saying you could win one in a vp tournament. We are leaving for our next "free" NCL eastern Carib. March 24. The only difficulty that I've found is getting the win/loss statements--they require them to be notarized and take forever. But, that said, don't be afraid of cruises--the Italian sinking was a very unusual event, but tell it to those passengers, I guess. Frankly, though, I wouldn't worry--just have another margarita.
