Nothing says winter like a 10" snow dump. Northeast got clocked. Of course it will melt this weekend. I turned into an ice fisherman yesterday. Good workout.

Look at it this way FAA: would you want to be dealing with the high temperatures being experienced out west right now?

Seventeen inches here FAA and ten more expected tonight. After 6 hours of shoveling at my house and dad's, the wife and I did make it out to the Ct. Sportsman's dinner and charity auction for kids with cancer at Mohegan last night. Got to meet Big Poppy briefly. The snow blower couldn't cut the heavy snow. Had to do by hand. Just paced ourselves. Lucky I can still get out and do it at nearly 70. Every Dr. in the world would say don't do it though. No kids with shovels walking around looking for jobs like when we grew up. They are too busy playing video games. We got fifty cents for a sidewalk and seventy five cents for the driveway. Sometimes we didn't charge at all for the poorer neighbors.

I remember we had too many kids in our neighborhood and ran out of places to shovel. Back in those days, we helped our neighbors and were thrilled to get a tip of any kind if it was offered. We were brought up much differently than what I seem to notice today. Thanks, Moms and Dads. You taught many of us well

No kids with shovels walking around looking for jobs like when we grew up. They are too busy playing video games.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Tell me about it. I sought some such soul avant le subsequent meltdown. My cousin advised to flag someone down. He lives twenty miles away, lacking context. My $20 True Temper shovel only hacked half the frozen path. Still, some mighty chunks I cleared, about 2" thick.
