So earlier this week, a typical white American male, exercising his 2nd amendment "rights", confronted a fellow American citizen who was out working on his car IN his own driveway, and shot the man....

The full fledged, English speaking, gainfully employed American working on his car happened to be wearing a turban, because in fact he was a Sikh. The gun toting white American uttered the words "go back to your own country/homeland" (or something very similar) before firing;. He apparently wasn't prepared, or able, to accept that the Sikh was already IN HIS OWN COUNTRY, because like many white Americans who want to make America great again he is clueless and racist and unaware that Sikhs are actually not an ethnicity but a Religion! Very few groups of people have endured more abuse and violation of their rights than Sikhs have in the USA since 9/11.

The complete piece of Sh*t male who shot the Sikh deserves life in prison. I have not heard or read yet whether he legally owned the gun used in the crime, but to me it doesn't matter....This is a person who does not deserve to own a gun, and is the poster child of anti firearm activists everywhere on why guns should be severely restricted. The "rights" of people to own guns are not more important than the right of people minding their own business not to be shot.

But forget guns for now....It is embarrassing for those of us in American society who believe in the ideals of equality and freedom and all that is good about the USA to see idiots like this guy.....And he is not some mere lone idiot or exception....Millions and millions of Americans think & believe exactly like this moron.

Well I'm not surprised, nor is my post an expression of something I just now figured out.... It's one of disgust, of outrage and bewilderment that society is regressing so badly, and all most people can do is shrug, or find rationalization for things that are clearly EVIL.

But, as I mentioned before, I also know that the Bible says this is what's supposed to happen, but even here, as soon as someone mentions "Bible", a lot of people turn off or become apoplectic. I'm hoping that somehow, someway, Christ does return and straightens everyone out, including me.

Guns are the fourth branch of government. I dont own guns, don't personally need to, thanks to everyone else, but you won't see true tyranny until the guns are tried to be taken away. As bad as the tragedy might be when people are murdered, it is a cost which is worth the price.

I'm not an advocate of no guns, I just think the application and importance of the 2nd amendment has been so overstated and overblown it obscures other more important issues. What you state, regarding "tyranny" is the usual over simplified, excessive justification for having No firearm regulations at all....How do you suppose having average everyday American citizens with guns prevents tyranny, in this day and age? With the massive weapons and resources that the federal government has, it makes no difference if typical Americans, with their overweight bodies and their concern for their cable TV and casino trips, own a handgun or not! Or even an assault rifle!!! You and your neighborhood watch are no match for a SWAT team, and certainly not the military....Factor in the surveillance and regulatory means of the government's at the state and federal levels and there you have it...

Seriously, what makes you think tyranny already isn't here in certain forms and degrees? Many right wing gun loving Patriots already believe it's here, despite the massive number of guns on the streets!   What does the tyranny you describe above actually entail and look like?

It will get worse. If the people have guns, they can replace a government. Yeah things are bad as far as individual rights are concerned, but it could be worse.
